Chapter 16 Waiting for Forever

A few days had passed and I hadn't heard from Andy since the concert. I was a little worried, so I told Trish and she said not to worry

about it. I couldn't help but worry though. What if this was all just a hoax? What if Andy just told me all of those things knowing that he

wouldn't have to ever see me again if he didn't want to? What if it was just a lie?


These thoughts flooded my head leaving me uncapable of thinking about anything else. I had to clear my head, so I left Trish and went

outside and sat alone against the math building.



I wanted to cry. That probably wasn't the right response but I jusg felt so overwhelmed. Tuesday night was so amazing, but it was

Friday and I hadn't even gotten a text from Andy. All I had wanted to do after that night was talk to him, but I guess he didn't have the

same idea.


All of a sudden I felt someone sit down next to me. It was David. David and I worked together on the same committee for our Student

Leadership class, and we'd become really close because of it. Before the class we didn't really know each other, but after we were pretty

much inseperable.



We were an awesome team and we got along great. He taught me a lot too. I had no clue how to do what we were suppose to, but he

did. The nice thing about David, was that he was patient with me and he never made me feel dumb.We did everything at school

together. During class we only worked with each other. If I needed to go to the office then he needed to go

to the office and vice versa. We'd even become good friends along the way. So much good of friends that I could trust him with

something like what was happening.



"Are you okay Liss? I saw your car when I got here, but then when I walked into the Student Center I didn't see you. I asked Trish

where you were but she said she didn't know. She just knew that you needed some air. I figured that you would be here in our usual

spot."


He was correct; I was sitting in our usual spot. Oh and Liss, he always called me that. Our job in Student Leadership (Stud Led)

required us to make phone calls and this was about one of the only quiet and empty spaces on campus. No one really knows about it, so

we are never bothered. Sometimes during Stud Led, if we have nothing to do or we don't wanna stay for our in class meeting we'll go to

our spot and just chill there. We'll share childhood stories, talk about life, or even sometimes we just sit there and don't talk at all. Not

in awkward silence, but in silence that is understood and accepted.


I could tell David anything, so I told him what had happened that night. Well at first almost everything.


"So, remeber how I told you about that guy that used to come to school here, who I was friends with?"


"Ya"


"And remember all of that "I'd hug you but that would be awkward talk?"


"Yes"


"Well, the other night at the concert he did hug me and it wasn't awkard."


"Ok. Was that it?"


"Not exactly. So I asked if I could hug him and he said yes, so I did. But then when I went to walk away he stopped me and then told me that he loves me."


"Woah. Wait a second. He told you that he loves you? And what do you mean he stopped you? How?"


Oh boy, now I had to tell him.


"Yes, he told me that he loves me and I told him that I love him too. And he stopped me with a kiss." that last phrase came out much

faster and quieter than the other part had.


"Are you serious? Listen if that guy does anything to hurt my Li... I mean you then he better watch out because I'm coming for him."


"Chill, Dave. Don't worry he's not like that. Plus he's sweet and he's been my friend for a while, so I trust him."


"Alright. Ok I'll chill. But wait. If all of this "happy" relationship stuff happened then why are you so upset?"


"So this happened Tuesday right? And now it's Friday and I haven't heard anything from Andy since that night. Not to mention the fact

that I'm starting to think that this whole thing just may have been a sick joke."


"Oh come on Liss. If anyone were to do that it wouldn't be to you. They would be a fool to just ignore you and not realize what they

have: a beautiful, talented, and intelligent young woman."


"Ah, whatever you say Dave."


"Hey, I speak the truth."


"Well whatever it is, it sure made me feel better."


"Come on let's go, the bell's about to ring."


Then he grabbed my hand to help me up and walked back to the student center to get my stuff.
