Thank you so much for the beautiful cover, I love it! TheStoryWriterWrites
If you read the chapter 'taken' sorry for taking it down, I published it without remembering that it wouldn't fit with the new way I want the book to go and it was pretty pointless even if it was.
Hope you like the chapter.
_hello_hi
Colton and Anna were in a singular cell, their limbs bound by chains and their bodies crumpled on the floor in awkward positions like shot window mannequins. After a few hours Colton woke up, his head foggy and aching profusely, his temple stabbing painfully against his skull. He rattled the tight chains as he tried to escape but to no avail, the sound echoing in the empty room. Whilst Anna was asleep, three guards have entered, Colton pretended to be asleep so he could protect her by surprising them in case they tried to do anything to her.
"Ugh..." I groans as I finally wake up.
For a moment, the world was a blur of dull colours. Then, as I properly awoke, everything came into focus. I wished it hadn't, I found herself in a dark cell. Shackles were tied around my ankles and wrists, chaining me to the solid brick wall behind her, the opposite wall to Colton's. Every time I so much as shifted, the chains made echoing noises that seemed to go on forever.
"Hey babe." Colton tried to sound calm.
"I know we're kidnapped Colt."
"Sorry." He muttered.
Soon enough they heard the door open. The door was solid metal. Nothing was going to budge it. The surface was flat and shiny like the outside of a stainless steel refrigerator. There was no handle, no lock, no hinges, nothing to get a grip on. The top and bottom, even the sides, lay so utterly flush with the frame that there was no hope of getting it open even if they had had a crowbar, but they had nothing of the sort. The ominous creaking noise bought a chill to their spines. It sounded like some animal dying, crying out its pain and sorrow with its last breath.
"So you are finally awake." An elderly weirdo smiled creepily as he walked in. He's like Mark isn't he?
"Well nah," I snap sarcastically at the guy.
"Watch your tongue bitch." The guy orders.
"Don't call her a bitch!" Colton yell annoyed, defending me without a second thought.
"It's not like you can do anything, lover boy." He laughs before locking the door as he leaves.
After ten minutes he comes back swinging a chain of keys round his fingers.
"So... You going to tell me what I want to know?" He asked.
"What do you wanna know?" I questioned, an irritated tone in my voice.
"Don't act dumb I know you know!" The guy roared.
"Know about what? I don't know!" I screamed back much louder than the bald guy.
"I want to know about...Marie Blake." The guy stated, obviously expecting us to immediately tell us what he wanted to know.
"Why do you want to know about my step mother?" I questioned confused, Colton matched my bewildered expression.
"Well..." The guy stated annoyingly slow.
The delusional man ranting about how he had waited years to finally put his plan into place and going on about how my dad had apparently stolen Marie away from him. Honestly, he would be a good match for Brooke considering how psychotic they both are. He continuously paced around as he swore that Marie was the love of his life and that she only loved him rather than my dad which is hilarious, she probably doesn't even remember him, if she actually knows him and if she does know him, it would be because of his crazy stalking. He needs to move on, like seriously.
"So you're telling me that Marie died three mother-fucking years ago?" The baldy yelled, his face tomato red.
"Yep." I pop the 'p'.
"NO!" I jump back at the sudden outrage of baldy.
I swear he is more emotional than a teenage girl PMSing on her frickin' period.
"She can't be! No! She had to be alive! We have to be together! No!" Baldy yelled furious. "You're lying!" He screamed in my face.
"WHY WOULD I LIE ABOUT MY STEP MOTHER BEING DEAD!" I roared, ready to rip his bald neck right off his scrawny neck.
"You're crazy!" Colton yelled at the still fuming bald nutcase.
"You will all see how crazy I am, especially your father," baldy threatened pointing a crooked finger at me.
