1802
The moonlight lit the forest I was running through.
It was a cold night and I was sweating a lot.
He was right behind me, in only a few minutes time he'd catch up. He would be able to smell me from far away.
I should've known.I took a second to catch my breath and then continued running.
But sadly he already caught up.
I could hear him speeding towards me.Hiding behind a tree, I watched him get closer.
"Oh, Florence. I know you're here somewhere. I can smell your blood from miles away."
Only 4 meters separated us. Me and the man who murdered my entire family.
My heart raced. I could feel anger and fear running through my veins.
No matter what, I wasn't going down without a fight.
I broke a branch off the tree I was hiding behind, exposing myself and pointed the wooden stake at the murderer.
"Is that how you're going to defend yourself? By now you should know a normal wooden stake won't kill me."
"It might not kill you, but it will hurt and give me a head start."
"I think I finally get why my sister likes you so much. Too bad, though."
His name was Klaus Mikaelson. He was a murderer.
"You're a smart girl, Florence, getting your family out of France because of the revolution. Too bad they died," he spoke.
I got angrier by the second.
"YOU KILLED THEM! MURDERED INNOCENT PEOPLE!" I shouted at him.
"I like to see it as collateral damage. You should too, love."
"FOR WHAT? KILLING ME BECAUSE I FIGURED OUT WHAT YOU WERE?!?"
"No Miss Hopes, you're strong. I know you hurt yourself this morning and that Rebekah healed you with her blood, that she tried to protect you from me. If I killed you now, you'd turn."
"I don't ever want to be like you! You're a monster!"
"Too bad, love."
He sped towards me and snapped my neck.
Within seconds everything turned to darkness.
I died.
