Chapter XII She's Ok

I hang up and sigh. She's ok. She is safe. I'm glad she is because I was really starting to worry. I had called and called her and every time it went to voicemail. I get up and run downstairs. Jared, Tomo, and my mom were all sitting in the kitchen at the bar.

"Guys, Katherine is safe. I just talked to her she is in Florida and she is safe" I say

"Why is she in Florida" Jared asks

"She is visiting her parents" I say

"Well will she be back" Tomo asks

"Honestly I have no idea because I didn't ask that but I hope she will and I hope it's soon" I say regretting not asking

"Well I'm glad she is safe. She had us all worried" mom says

"Yes I'm glad too" I say

I go back upstairs and change into swimming trunks then head outside. I swim around the pool a bit to cool off. I walk back inside and change after I'm done. I head back downstairs to get some food and see my mom alone in the kitchen.

"Hey mom what you doing" I ask

"Oh just making some food you want some" she asks

"Yes please" I say and sit at the table

"Ok" she says

"Listen mom their is something I née to talk to you about" I say

"What's that" she asks

"Mom, Katherine and I aren't together and we never were. We've lied to you the whole time. I'm sorry" I say

"I know Shannon it's ok" she says

"It's just I promised you that I would find a girl by now and I haven't and I just didn't want to let you down" I say

"Shannon you didn't let me down" she says

"Yes mom I have because I broke my promise and I lied to you about it" I say

"Shannon your promise was that you would find a girl by this summer you didn't lie to me about that, you lied to me about you and that girl being together. Shannon I believe you've already found a girl. I believe Katherine is that girl" she says

"Well I did too until she left without any of use knowing" I say sadly

"Shannon do you know why she left" she asks

"No I didn't ask" I answer

"She left because she thought that because you wanted to be in a relationship with her for really and the fact that you guys were pretending to be in a relationship that she was hurting you. She also thought she was hurting Jared, Tomo, and I by lying to us" she says

"Well it did kinda upset me that I couldn't be in a real relationship with her but I understand that she doesn't want to move to fast so I didn't" I say

"Is that for sure what she wants thought" she asks

"Yes, I'm pretty sure, I think so anyways" I say realizing I really didn't know

"Well have you guys talked about it since you guys have pretended to be in a relationship" she asks

"No"

"Well maybe when she gets back you guys should talk about it. Make sure it what you both want" she says with a smile

I think it over for a second and nod. Once again my mom was right. Katherine and I really did need to talk about it and a lot of other things too. As soon as she gets back we will make time to talk about it.
