The apartment itself is just the right size for two people. A small living room is located on the frontside of the building with my bedroom next to it. The kitchen and mom's bedroom are situated on the backside of the lodgement. The bedrooms and kitchen are ready to use, but the living room needs some work. Mom wants to paint the walls before we put any furniture in it, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

My bedroom has been repainted before it got sold to us and I have to say that it is a nice change from what I used to have. Instead of white the walls are painted a light blue and the floor is even lighter than mine used to be. A white wooden bed is put in front of the central heating under the window that looks out over the street, a small bookcase covering the last of the heating. Slightly see-through white curtains hang on either side and white closets are built in the walls on the right side of the door. A desk that seems to be made from the same wood as the floor stands next to the bed instead of a night table. All in all, it is a bright yet cozy room. I will have to get used to the colour, but so far I do quite like it. Except for the giant pile of boxes that are put against the left wall, like a threatening cardboard mountain. I sigh and begin unpacking. What a way to spend your day after a tiring flight.

New day, new chances. I was able to do the biggest part of the unpacking yesterday, so all my clothes and books are neatly arranged in their designated places. My desk is already full with my laptop and textbooks. Come autumn I will start at the local university to study history. Not a very exciting study, I know, but I thoroughly enjoy learning about the past. Also, it is a way for me to discover more about my heritage.

"Scarlet, can you call Jin?"

"Why?" I ask as I join her in the living room.

"We need to paint the living room and the shop below. Today some of the equipment will be delivered as well, so we need to install them as well."

The original plan was that we would do that a week after we had moved in. Apparently not.

"I thought we would do that next week?"

"Setting up shop as soon as possible now seems like the best thing to do." Mom sounds confident. Typically her to not stick to the plan.

"Why do I have to make the call?" I ask rhetorically, yet she answers with an all-knowing smile.

"Because he likes you," she says sweetly.

"Damn you. Fine, I'll call him."

Even though I am not happy about it, since I hate calling and being called, I do as she asks. Fishing my phone out of my pocket, I dial Jin's number. After going over twice he picks up. "Scarlet, annyeong." He sounds very happy to hear from me.

"How did you know it was me? Did mom give you my number?"

"I can ask you the same."

"She gave me your number," I admit awkwardly.

He laughs. "The same goes for me. She looked very happy when she did so." He sounds as if he is pondering the situation. No wonder she looked happy, she wants me to get a boyfriend quickly. Again, I cannot blame her.

"Anyhow," I begin to change the subject, "we want to paint the living room and bakery today. Some equipment will be delivered today as well, so we also need some help installing as well."

"Painting I can do. However, I am not really handy when it comes to installing things. Yoongi, my friend, is. I can ask him if you'd like?"

Any help is appreciated and needed at this moment. "Sure, why not. The more, the merrier." I just hope he is not as intense as Namjoon was. In any case, him and Jin together was a rather odd sight to see. Jin seems like your boy-next-door and Namjoon as a bad boy. Opposites attract, they say. Guess that also applies to friends.

Not much later the boys arrive. Jin's friend, Yoongi, is a bit smaller than him and has short brown hair. His small dark eyes lazily take me in. He seems very relaxed, too relaxed if you ask me. "Scarlet, this is Yoongi," Jin introduces his friend.

"Hi," is the only thing he says.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Scarlet." He just nods at me after my introduction.

"Heard you need some help installing."

Well, he is at least straight to the point. Despite him not saying much, I do quite like that about him. With a little effort I think he and I might become friendlier with each other.

"Yeah, some ovens and fridges. Those kinds of things."

"Alright, I think I can do that." He smiles confidently for a second.

As soon as my eyes leave his slender figure he returns to his stoic expression. Odd. Was that a real smile or a fake one? I do not know, despite having faked smiles often. I can tell with my friends, but not with him. I ponder this before Jin pulls me back into reality. "Um, Scarlet, shall we get to work?"

I startle as his words get through to me. "Are you okay?" Jin asks worried and even Yoongi has a slightly troubled expression in his eyes.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just spacing out for a bit. Sorry." I try to laugh it off with a fake laugh, which turns into a bit of an awkward smile.

"Okay," he says, his voice betraying that he wonders about what I was thinking, before walking ahead to the living room.

As Yoongi walks past me, he says, completely out of the blue: "Keep your thoughts in check." Something about the way he says it tells me he knows what I was thinking about. He ignites my curiosity. Curious, curious indeed.
