Let me tell you this, after all this preparing for the festival I am not able to see nor make cake for a good while. If I have to make such absurd amounts any time soon, I will cry. Especially if I cannot work together with the Bangtan baking team.

Talking about them, we are one member short today.

'Hey, where's Yoongi?' I ask Jin, who has dedicated this morning to experimenting with different flavours. Currently he seems to be busy turning a drink into a cupcake form.

He puts the bowl with batter aside to properly face me and respond. 'I haven't seen him during breakfast and Namjoon hasn't either. When I went to check on him, I found his room empty. Not even a note to tell us where he went was left behind.' He ruffles my hair when he sees my worried expression. 'No need to look like that, Scarlet. You know him, he's probably writing lyrics in his notebook somewhere.'

'But that idiot promised to help out.' I clench my fist, shaking slightly with irritation because he would help us bake but instead left us hanging for an unknown reason, exactly when we need all the help we can possibly get. 'I swear, when I find him I will decorate his face with buttercream and dip his head in the box with sprinkles. If not anything worse.'

The friend who has been like a brother to me ever since I have met him chuckles at the thought of my revenge. 'He should watch out. Really, he will turn up sooner or later.'

'Oh, he better. Anyways, what are you making?' I ask, looking at the dough in the pink plastic bowl and changing the subject to forget about the annoyance my wolf has caused.

'Mojito cupcakes. Here, have a taste and tell me if it needs more lime juice.'

'I don't know if-' Before I can express any more doubt, he puts a teaspoon with some of the cake mix in my mouth.

'If it tastes good, it's low in calories. You won't gain any weight from it . So, what do you think?' He looks at me in anticipation, eagerly awaiting my reaction.

A perfect balance between the sweetness from the palm sugar, freshness from a bit of mint extract and sourness from the lime. It screams summer, despite it being almost autumn. A memory of late nights and cocktail parties, spending time on the beach during hot days. Perfect for these last days of the season without worries.

I nod and make a satisfied sound, unable to say anything. Jin grins and pulls the spoon out of my mouth. 'I see it's to your liking, but you can't keep licking that teaspoon forever.' He gently taps my nose with it when he notices my slightly disappointed look.

'Aw,' I sigh, longing for another taste. 'Can't wait for the cupcakes to come out of the oven. Guess I'll help Kookie and Tae until then.'

'I don't want to find you waiting in front of the oven when they bake, young lady.'

'Yes, oppa.' I roll my eyes and turn around to help the two brotherly friends decorate and bake the big cakes.

This time we are working on a lemon and a devil's food cake, which seems to have the boys on a sugar rush before they have even tasted it.

'Why do we have to work with chocolate when we can't even have a taste of it?' Jungkook whines, chopping up a bar of pure dark chocolate for the frosting.

'Finally throwing aside that diet?' Taehyung teases, although he seems to be struggling with not eating the lemon cake batter.

'If I keep helping Scarlet and she continues to put me anywhere near this goodness, I just might.'

'Don't even dare to put your finger in the batter or eat any of the ingredients,' I threaten as I appear between them, looking over their shoulders. 'Or else you will pay for the costs you made and not allowed to partake in the taste test.'
