I am impressed when I hear the doorbell ring at half past seven and see Yoongi standing before me when I had expected to see Jin. 'Good morning, early bird,' I greet him and gesture for him to come inside.

'I only do this for you. Is the rest already here?' He steps inside and looks around the place.

'You're the first.'

'That's weird. I saw Jin leaving before me. I assumed he'd be here.'

I shake my head. 'I don't know what else he is doing, but he will come later.' I close the door and walk over to him. 'Coffee?'

'Please.' He stretches and yawns. As I turn to leave for the kitchen, he grabs my wrist and stops me in my tracks. 'You know what? Let me make it.'

'Well, well, somebody is true boyfriend material.'

His cheeks get a pink flush. 'Maybe I am. Anyhow, get dressed. It'll be done when you get back.'

The remark reminds me I am still wearing pyjamas. I had expected them all to show up later, especially him, and thus have a bit more time to walk around in comfy sleepwear.

Quickly I walk to my bedroom to put on a simple lumberjack blouse with a white top underneath, ripped jeans and a pair of sneakers. As I am tying my hair in a ponytail, I come across my mom, who is also on her way to the bathroom. 'You have such a sweet boyfriend, making coffee for you. It reminds me of your dad and I when we were young,' she muses sweetly, smiling in delight.

It sounds so weird and it is even weirder to know that we are indeed a couple. Although, we haven't been on a date yet and only confessed. Can you call it dating then? I do not know, but this is fine for now.

Hold your horses, I didn't tell her about us.

'Mom!' How did she find out?

'What, honey?'

'Why did you say that?'

'Do you mean the "boyfriend" part?' I nod. 'I heard you tease him.'

'You were eavesdropping?' Unbelievable, this woman is going to some extreme ends when it comes to taking care of her daughter.

'Scarlet, it is nothing to be ashamed of. Gosh, look at that. My little girl has her first relationship.' She cups my face with her hands and looks at me tenderly. 'I am so happy for you.'

'And I am happy that you are, but can you let go of me so that I can brush my teeth?' I want to get out of this conversation as fast as possible.

She lets go. 'I am going downstairs to set up the equipment so we can have a flying start. It's lovely your friends are willing to help out.'

When she heard Jin and I hired more reinforcements, the expression on her face brightened and all the stress seemed to flow away. Before she thought we wouldn't be able to complete the task at hand of baking enough cakes and cupcakes for the festival with just the three of us, whilst also running the bakery at the same time, because we cannot close the shop and miss the profit since we are still recovering from the costs of it.

I hear her greeting Yoongi before she takes her leave. After being done, I join him in the living room, where he is writing something in a familiar-looking notebook.

'Inspiration?' I ask and sit next to him, trying to see what he is penning down. Yet, as soon as I lean over even an inch of a centimetre, he closes it and puts it besides him, out of my reach.

'I'm working on a new song, yes.'

'Why can't I see it? Maybe I can provide feedback?'

'It's still in the early stages and I want to develop it a bit more before I show you. Besides, I want it to be a surprise.' At those last words, a small smile forms around his lips.
