Sleep Well

These are my last thoughts before I sleep.

Sometime in the near future, there is nothing. Nothing left of civilization as we now know it. No government. No order.

Utter chaos.

The cause? Not important now. It is rather obvious, anyway.

Where was I? Right. Near future.

Imagine your street. Imagine it empty of people and any living thing. Imagine untended lawns and houses and roads and cars. Imagine blood and bullet holes and craters from explosions littered throughout not only your neighborhood, but your town and your country. Imagine dead bodies scattered as liberally as the stars are.

That is life now.

Life is desolation and rebellion and law is nonexistent.

Now imagine trying to live in that world.

Hard, isn't it? I don't think most people would survive. I know I sure as heck wouldn't. Not by myself anyway.

How would you survive? How do you think you would?

Keep in mind that there are regular patrols of soldiers who are ordered to kill on sight.

And there are other people trying to survive, who will do anything to do so.
