New Wattpad Profile Feedback

Hello there.

So, let's just say that I'm just glad you guys are actually taking in feedback and I hope you act on it when everyone is (sadly) converted, and fix all these issues.

And, I currently do not have the new profile but my friends do and I took a long, hard look.

Anyway, first off.

-The status bar. It needs to come back. It was the best way to show that you updated or even to further personalise your profile because it was at the very top of your page. You can only update it if you go to your Home news feed but even then no one can see it. Please bring back the status bar.

-The banner! This is the thing I probably hate most about the new profiles. It's faded, it pixelates images that don't fit, it's dark, it isn't the tile, and it's ONLY A BANNER AT THE TOP!

One of the things I loved most about the old profiles was the background that spanned over the whole profile. I hadn't seen it done before and I LOVED it. Now it's just a faded, glitchy and lame banner up at the top of the page. And on top of that the regular background is a plain, boring grey. It's much less personalisable and that is a big issue for me. PLEASE BRING BACK THE FULL-PAGE BACKGROUND. And keep the banner, I don't care, but if you do don't make it dim and warp your image.

Honestly, if you got that back I would be 50% more okay with the new profiles.

-The news feed on the profiles. Okay, honestly, I have no idea what you were all thinking with this. We already have a news feed on our home page that actually works! Why give us a cluttered, too-big, annoying one on our profile? It's like you're trying to turn Wattpad into a social media site, when it's meant for reading and writing! You're messing it all up. It's messy, it's disorganised, and it's ANNOYING, most of all. When I get the profile I am going to X out of all the boxes and pray they stop coming. Plus they just make your profile go on and on and on. Please leave the news feed on the news feed, AND DON'T CHANGE THE ORIGINAL NEWS FEED I AM BEGGING YOU.

And fix the message board, please. It's nearly impossible to find a conversation you're in under everything, and the text is near impossible to read with the grey background. It was perfectly fine how it was.

-The works. First of all, it only shows five instead of ten. Second, it only shows the covers, no blurb or stats. Third, you can't even choose which book is in front. I hear you're going to be changing that but the first two issues still remain. You know that people are lazy, they're not gonna click 'see _ other works' or whatever to see what other books there are. I know I wouldn't! It's just all in all really, REALLY bad idea. Just in general, with the books. I don't even really know what was going on in your heads... I mean, I understand that you need to update it to look more modern, but come on. This is like the horrible, disfigured child of twitter and facebook.

-You can't see recent votes, dedications, your number of followers/following is no longer specific, you can't see when you joined wattpad, your location, or how many votes you have, and the profile picture is a circle. And your bio is all squished at the side of the page. These are the more minor issues, but they're still issues. I don't mind the loss of the recent comments bit but the dedications and the votes? That's how you advertise other books. And you can show and share what you've been reading without having to do anything. As for the votes, location and when you joined, I find those very important! Votes are the stats, location is just a fun little feature that I always love filling in online profiles, and when you joined is something I constantly look at. Both on my profile and others'. And the circle shaped profile picture... Make it a bit bigger so you can actually see what it is and I'll be happy. I don't like the fact that it's a circle, because it cuts things out, but it does look nicer at the top of the page. And the bio. It's all... Forgotten over there in it's little corner. And hard to read (especially for people with poor eyesight) with the colors you chose. What I suggest is putting selectable tabs underneath the banner area that have your bio and general personal profile (such as followers, location, dedications, recent votes, reading list/library etc. etc) in it, and in another tab you have your works, and in another your settings, and in another (if you MUST keep the horrendous thing) the news feed and message board. I would be very happy with that. Tis a beautiful image in my head.

Oh, and reading lists are really hard to access currently. You should fix that too.

Those are really my only issues. As long as you keep everything else the way it is people will be happy and grateful.

I understand people put a lot of hard work into this profile, but you kind of ruined it. It looks like you're trying to make Wattpad a social media site when that definitely isn't what it is.
