Happy Valentine's day everyone! The new chapter isn't very Valentine-y but it has one of my favorite Neymar speeches midway through! Tell me what you think about it!

"We have to go now!" I whispered in Neymar's as soon as I found him.

"What? Why?"

"Scolari is here!"

His eyes turned wide, but he saw my panicked expression and realized I wasn't joking. He said something to the people he was talking to and we started making our way towards the exit.

"Where is he?" He asked me looking around.

"He was by the bar a few seconds ago, c'mon he can't know we're here." I said as I led him towards a part of the garden where the crowd was thicker and we could blend in. "There he is." I said as soon as I saw him. He and his wife were still by the bar, talking to Cisco. "C'mon let's go." I said to Neymar and we walked towards the exit which fortunately was out of Scolari's view.

"That was close." Neymar said when we got back inside the car.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I said, still feeling panicked.

"Hey. Look at me." Neymar said. "Relax. We're getting out of here. He doesn't know—" Neymar stopped talking as I heard a loud bang outside my window. Turning around I saw Scolari banging on the glass.

"Are you two serious?" He yelled. Neymar quickly got out of the car and approached him but I remained frozen in my seat, too shocked by his angry expression and banging on the window. They started talking or more accurately arguing in Portuguese.

I have to go outside, I thought to myself but my legs would not move. They had both raised their voices as they talked and then a third voice spoke, a female one. I turned my head as little as I could to see who it was and saw Scolari's wife approaching. She tagged at his shoulder and he immediately calmed down. She then proceeded to hug Neymar and even smile at me when she saw me looking.

She spoke to the both of them for a few seconds and by then the tension was slightly defused. The two of them walked back inside and Neymar got in the car. He stayed silent for a second, looking at the gate in front of us, before slamming his hand on the wheel angrily.

"Neymar..." I said reluctantly.

"Liv." He said flatly before turning the engine on and driving us out of there.

"I'm sorry I didn't—"

"Don't. Let's just forget about it." He said and I realized he was trying very hard not to snap at me. At that moment I felt like I deserved it.

"What did he say?" I asked.

"You can guess." He said, taking a deep breath. "But it doesn't matter."

"What do you mean?"

"What more can he do? Kick you out of Brazil? Make me quit the team?" He said and his tone was acidic.

"Still, him being mad at you..."

"He'll get over it if he knows what's good for him. And he does."

I didn't know what to say to him. Suddenly I saw their confrontation in a new light. It wasn't just about me. It was the fact that Neymar had to put up with a lot all these years, while carrying everyone's hopes and dreams in his back. He had to follow a lot of orders and give up a lot of things along the way.

We stayed silent for a few minutes as Neymar drove.

"I know this is bigger than me." He said suddenly. "It's not like I don't get it. And I know I have to sacrifice some things but I didn't know I had to give up so much. And I can't... It's gotten to a point where I just can't accept it anymore. I can't... I can't give you up. Because quite frankly, it seems ridiculous that they even want me to. I don't get why losing you is a sacrifice I would have to make. You make me better. A better person and a better footballer. I don't know why they can't see that. I don't know why they don't want to."

I felt my eyes moisten and I wiped them as discreetly as I could. Him saying all these things, him believing all these things, these things that were in such a contrast with what I believed... He said I made him better, when all around us were the evidence to the contrary. Everyone saw it, I saw it, only he didn't.

I didn't make him better. I didn't make his life better. I made his life difficult. And that wasn't news. Having to rely on others and screwing them up in the process was what I did best.

"I'm sorry." I said as tears started cascading from my eyes.

He turned to look at me, shocked. "What are you sorry for? I just told you—"

"You're wrong. About what you said. You don't know... If you saw it clearly... There are things—" I said but my words were being cut by the sudden flood of tears. It seemed like I suddenly couldn't control myself and what Sarah said to me kept repeating in my mind.

You kept saying you're a liar. And that Neymar deserves better.

You mentioned a guy. James? Who is he Liv?

No one.

"You aren't making any sense." Neymar said, as he stopped the car and looked at me worriedly. I realized we were in front of my brother's hotel and I suddenly found myself wanting to get as far away from him as possible. I tried to open the door but he realized what I was about to do and reached out to stop me. "I'm not letting you go." He said. "Please talk to me."

"I can't." I said breathlessly.

"I don't understand what's going on Olivia, damn it!" He said and there was clear anger in his voice. "Didn't you hear what I just said?"

"I did! You are wrong. There are things I can't tell you. I can't tell anyone."

Who is he Liv?

No one.

"I don't know what these things which you keep talking about are. But they are tormenting you and you can't keep doing this to yourself. You are destroying yourself and I can't let you do that. You have so much affection and compassion for everyone else and so little for you, it's making me so angry! I wish you'd see yourself through my eyes or through the eyes of all those people who love you!" He said, looking at me and his eyes were so expressive, so full of love and desperation that I couldn't look at him anymore. I realized that what he said to me wasn't in the spur of the moment but something he had thought about before. He knew, he realized way more than I thought he had. "Look I know you don't want to tell me. You don't have to." He said then, raising his hands defensively. I thought for a second that maybe that was true. "But you can't let your thoughts eat you alive. Tell someone. Tell anyone."

Who is he Liv?

No one.

No one.

No one.

He touched my face with his hands lightly and made me look at him. "I love you. And I'm not gonna lose you to this insanity."
