Alex's POV

The air around me felt cold and stagnant, it held a stench about it that reminded me of death. I rose to rest on my elbow feeling the cold and hard floor beneath me as I tried to see what was around me. It seemed that I was in a small and dark room; there was not a window visible that I could see, a small sink was in the corner that rested next to a toilet, kind of reminded me of a prison cell. Slowly, I started to lift to my feet, staggering and stumbling as my head pounded and I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. "Ugh," I grumbled as I made my way over to the sink. I wished I could see just how bad I looked but then again I was happy in the fact that a mirror had been left out of the decor and I was half thankful for that. I turned the knob for the cold water and waited and waited only getting a sputter of air and what looked like brown goo, "well suppose there's not any water." I sarcastically remarked as I stumbled back to the blanket. "There is never water in that sink, I don't know why they have it there." A voice from one of the dark corners spoke up. "What's your name?" I called out only getting the sound of something growling in return. "Why do you care you're the reason I'm here." The voice spoke and I could tell that even though the voice was weak it was a female. Shock filled my tone as I responded, "how is it my fault you're here, I don't even know you!" I proclaimed.

I started to hear her shuffling and the sound of chains being dragged across the concrete floor as she struggled to make her way closer. I gasped the moment she came into view, her hair was horribly matted, there were bruises covering every inch of her visible flesh, and blood. I rushed to her side and tried to help her the best I could but she only pushed me away. "Stay away from me," she tried to scream yet I didn't move. "Look, I don't know why you think this is my fault but regardless I'm not some heartless beast that would let you wither in pain and just stand by and watch." I told her letting my tone grow extremely serious so she knew I meant business, all I got in return was a simple nod.

I ripped the bottom part of my shirt and started to try and clean her up, thankfully she didn't seem to have any visible cuts, which made me wonder where all the blood came from. I had done my best when I heard heavy footsteps approaching and the girl, whose name I learned was Scarlet, started to shiver from fright. I turned towards the door just as it was pushed open and a tall scruffy looking an entered. He had to of been well over six and half feet tall, almost needing to duck as he went through the doorway. "Good you're awake." He said as he dragged a metal chair in and plopped down into it right in front of me. I couldn't help but give him this look that is I had the power I would kill him, not only for what he did to me but to Scarlet as well, who the hell did he think he was anyways? "I suppose you are wondering why you're here Alex..." he started and I was a bit shocked that he knew my name, "actually I am and how do you know my name?"

"I bet I know more about you then you know about yourself." He replied and I couldn't help but scoff at him, "mhmm sure you do." I replied with a sarcastic tone, he just leaned back in the chair and laughed at me. "Well, I can see this is going to be interesting, anyways I'm Heath Norden, and I'm the leader of Sacred Moon," he told me, of course I had another smart ass remark for that one. "I don't think I want to join your little cult butt thanks for the off." I told him as I lifted from the floor and stared at him while he laughed at me with anger starting to fill in. "Even if you were to beg I wouldn't let you in, you see what happened last time I was kind hearted." He told me as he motioned his head towards where Scarlet had vanished. I had to admit that right at that very moment I had never been more furious. I turned to face this Heath Norden and could feel a heat rising in my eyes, my vision suddenly grew sharper and it felt as if I had been consumed with strength. I lunged at him just as he started to laugh at me once more only to be tossed like a rag doll slamming up against the concrete wall. I landed with a thud, the air knocked from my lungs as I lay there trying to refill them. I could hear him mumbling as his heavy steps came closer until he lifted me by my hair until my feet were dangling off the floor. "Nice attempt half breed but you have failed the same as you failed at being a human." He tossed me once more sliding me across the floor as he left.
