Ch. 23

Adrian's POV- April 2016

I turned to my brother who took a deep breath.

"I'm dying"

"We're almost there" I assured him.

Sophia wasn't answering her phone, and my brother wanted to meet her so we were on campus. I heard a whistle and I stopped walking to see Jaclyn making her way over.

"Hey Jaclyn" I said.

She opened her arms and I pulled her into a hug.

"What brings you here?"

"My brother wants to meet Sophia" I stated.

She turned to my brother and smiled.

"Hi I'm Jaclyn, Sophia's roommate"

He shook her hand.

"Mario"

She nodded and looked at me.

"Soph's not in her room, she's at the gym"

She signaled for us to follow us.

"Down the hill we go"

"How's class?" I asked.

She sighed and shook her head.

"I hate Calculus, and Chemistry"

"I thought you were done with Chemistry" I stated.

"A science major is never done with chemistry Adrian"

She pushed open the door and waved at the people in the front desk.

"Is Soph here by any chance?"

The guy at the front desk nodded as he recognized me.

"Go right on in"

She pushed the door opened and peaked in just as a thud was heard.

"I see you're working on that layout with a full twist"

I pushed the door opened and followed her inside. Sophia was on lying on the floor, and I watched as she sat up. Her hair was up in a bun and she was wearing the shortest pair of shorts I had seen on her. I elbowed my brother as he hummed lightly while checking her out. 

"I'm not exactly hitting it"

I smiled at her friend, Esmeralda who put on her backpack.

"Well I have class in 10 minutes, so I should head out"

Sophia nodded.

"Thanks, maybe next time we can hit more than 3"

Esmeralda smiled.

"You've got plenty of time, don't rush it"

She waved as she walked out of the gym. 

"Your season just ended and you're already thinking about the next season?" I asked.

I stepped forward and stretched my hand out. She grabbed it and I pulled her up.

"I smell bad"

"I'm sure I smell worse after games" I stated as I squeezed her.

I pulled away and pecked her lips.

"So, Mario insisted he meet you. He couldn't wait until Friday to meet you" I told her.

I let go of her and she smiled at my brother.

"It's nice to meet the famous Sophia that's got my baby bro wrapped around her finger"

She shook his hand and laughed as he pulled her into a hug.

"It's nice to meet you too"

He let go of her and smiled.

"You are smaller than I imagined"

She laughed and waved at Jaclyn who was making her way out of the room.

"Taking a break from studying?" I asked.

"I've got a review at 4PM"

It was still early in the afternoon.

"Are you coming to the game tomorrow?"

She shook her head.

"No, I've got class from Noon to 4PM tomorrow"

"She can't make it to the game" I told Mario when he raised an eyebrow.

"I tutor in Calculus from 5:30-6:50"

He nodded.

"But I will be there on Friday"

Sophia was taking a load of 19 units. Statistics, Upper division Psych, and Human Anatomy with lab. 

"We should get out of your way" I said.

She smiled.

"I'll walk you to the lot"

I nodded and watched as she slipped on a hoodie.

"How long are you here for?"

Mario looked at her and smiled.

"Don't worry, I'll give Adrian his privacy"

She rolled her eyes and laughed.

"It'd be best to let him starve" I told her.

"Oh you cook?"

She nodded and he looked at me.

"Mom is going to love her"

I nodded and looked at Sophia who was fixing her hoodie.

"Did you eat already?" I asked.

"No, but I'm going to eat with Jac right now" 

"Alright, let's walk quick so you can go eat" I said.

"So how did you meet Adrian?"

She looked at Mario and smiled.

"That's a story for another day"

He frowned as we reached the parking lot. 

"Well it was nice meeting you"

He nodded and gave her a squeeze.

"Thanks for meeting me, you're a busy girl from what I can tell"

She smiled.

"I always have time for Adrian though"

I nodded and pulled her into a hug.

"I'll call you tomorrow morning" I told her.

She nodded and I took the time to lean in. I gave her a quick kiss and smiled when she hugged my waist.

"Have you talked with my mom?"

I smiled.

"Yes I have, we will talk about that Friday" I said.

I gave her another kiss  and let go of her.

"Good luck on your exam!"

 I watched as she walked away and looked at Mario when he nudged me.

"What did you ask her mom?"

"I asked if I could steal her away this summer" I told him.

"And?"

I grinned.

"She said yes" I stated.

I laughed as he cheered while we walked towards my car.
