Adrian's POV- February 2017

There was a knock on the door as I frowned at the TV when I realized that the hotel cable did not have the Pac-12 network.

"Can you get that?"

I stood up and made my way to the door. I stepped back as I opened the door and Tanner Pearson walked in.

"Come on get up, we're going dowtown"

Tyler groaned and sat up.

"We were just there" I stated.

"Well we're going back now"

I reached for my phone and looked at the time.

"I'm going to hang back" I replied.

Tanner frowned.

"Why?"

What I learned about this team is that they did not take no for an answer. There was a knock on the door and I glanced up as Paul peaked in.

"Are you watching the meet?"

"They don't have the channel" I answered.

"What meet?"

Ty hummed.

"That explains why you were in a rush to get back"

I was forced to go to a team dinner because I needed to bond with them. I was incredibly thankful that they all took me under their wing, but at the same time I didn't want to bother them.

"What meet?"

"My girlfriend competes in NCAA gymnastics" I told Tanner.

He nodded slowly and I turned to see Paul tapping in my passcode on my iPad.

"She's anchoring, so she hasn't been up yet"

I made my way over to him and sat next to him as he maneuvered his way through my iPad.

"I think she's next so hurry up and type your password"

He handed me my iPad and I logged into my cable provider.

"Just in time"

Soph was literally beginning her beam routine.

"Guys watch this"

She wobbled a bit, but caught herself

She wobbled a bit, but caught herself.

"How tall is she?"

I glanced away from the iPad.

"She's 5'1" I replied.

"She's tiny"

Soph actually told me that before her injury she was 4'9. She had a growth spurt and went at least two years without competing. That pass did not come naturally, I remember her struggling with it this past summer. It sucked not being able to make it to a single meet. She made time for me, and no matter what I did I couldn't make time for her. It was a bummer, but if all went well I'd be going to her meet next week.
