Chapter 16

Emma's POV

Killian and I maybe together now, but for the last month without Mackenzie in our lives we have been fighting all the time. It was mostly over what to do about Mackenzie.

"We have to get her back." I say.

"Love, she isnt ours anymore. We cant have her back." Killian says.

"Or you dont want her back." I say.

"I never said that." He says.

"Well you might as well have. God I knew you never wanted a child." I say to him.

"Okay once again you've lost it. Im going home. I'll see you later." He says and then walked out.

"So I wasnt listening or anything, but I think the reason you two split the first time had to do with giving up your daughter." Belle says.

I thought about it and she was right after we have Mackenzie up we wanted to stay together long distance, but he wouldnt answer my calls and would bail on visits, but I did the same to him. I have to get to him before we lose each other again.

Killian's POV

I was at the docks thinking about all this stuff going on. Im not mad at Emma Im mad the situation we are in. Losing Mackenzie again made me feel like a bad father. I hate myself not Emma. I just know there is nothing we can do to get her back.

"Killian? Killian?" I heard Emma say.

"Right here love." I say.

"Look Im sorry Belle pointed out the the first time we gave her up with lost each other and now its happening again and I dont want it to happen again." She says.

"It wont love." I say.

"Good because I love you." She says.

"I love you too." I say and kiss her.

As I hold her close to me I knew we had to at least try and find away to get Mackenzie back. That face of fear she had when they took her something just wasnt right about the whole thing.

"Well, Well, Well. Look at you two still trying to hold on to each other." Milah says.

"No. Why are you here?" I ask.

"Because Jones... We are gonna wait for you two to realize that without your child you two arnt meant to be together." Neal says.

"You turned her over to them. You made them come and take her away from us." Emma says.

"Yes we did. To you two its betrayal, but to them it was returning THEIR daughter." Milah says.

"I told you how afraid of the life she had. How could you send her back there?" Emma asks Neal.

"And I told you she needed help and wanted to feel safe and when she first came her you could see fear in her eyes, but then when she learned we would hurt her it started to go away. Then I saw that fear again when they took her. You two should be ashamed of yourselves." I say to them.

"We should but we arnt." Milah says.

"The kid is where she needs to be with people who didnt abandon her." Neal says.

"You sick of a bitch. If anything happens to her. I will hunt you down and kill you with my bare hands." I say getting in Neal's face.

"Killian easy. We can figure this out." Emma says pulling me away from him.

"Try all you want theres nothing you can do." Milah says and then she and Neal walked away.

Emma still had a grip on my arm and then she pulled me back to my place. I sat down on my steps and she sat next to me and placed her head on my shoulder.

"We will get through this." She says.

"How?" I ask.

"Together." She says.

"I just dont want anything bad to happen to her." I say.

"Me either, but right now we need to sleep. Can I trust you to stay here and sleep?" She asks.

"Swan, I'll be fine." I say getting up and walked to the door.

"You want me to go in with you?" She asks.

"No love I'll be fine." I lie.

Then I remembered that Emma had that thing with lying. She didnt say anything, but she did stand up and once I opened my door she pulled me inside. We sat on the couch and I pulled her close to my chest and kissed her head. I may be losing my mind thinking I once again have failed my child, but this time I wont fail Emma like I did the last time.
