Chapter 9 - Misunderstanding

The next few months of school have been the same. Edward and I are still close. We still care about each other and constantly pushing each other to be the very best version of ourselves. He has been protective lately too. It seems like he really took my dad's words seriously.

I recall the conversation that happened between my dad and Edward very clearly in my head.

"Edward, make sure that no one looks at Maymay the wrong way, okay?" my dad told him

"Off course Tito, leave it to me. Anyone who wants to date my twin will have to go through me first" Edward replied

"Uh, hello. I am right here. Can you guys stop talking about me as if I am not here?" I said

They both laughed and that annoyed me.

"You guys can't stop me from dating anyone, you know?" I continued

"Watch me" Edward said

It seems that Edward is really serious about that. I am not that beautiful, at least, I don't think I am but I have some guys who asked for my number when I am walking home from school. Also, sometimes, I would see Tanner look at me differently during student council meetings. But every time this stuff happens, Edward would call my attention or put his arms around my shoulder and just like that, everyone would back off.

I mean, yes, I am still scared to give my heart to anyone but that doesn't mean that I can't give anyone a chance to prove to me that love is not the worst thing in the world. After all, I am a firm believer of love. I believe that love will make me believe in it again, at the right time, and with the right person.

Today, as Edward and I were walking home, I couldn't help but ask him "Twin, what is love for you?"

"Where did that question come from twin?" he asked

"Nothing, just wondering. Also thinking of maybe, trying again" I answered

"Love? I think you cannot define love. You cannot even measure it. Perhaps more than any other emotion, you know it when you feel it." he said

"Have you ever fallen in love twin?" I asked him

"I think so, I am not sure" he answered me sincerely

"Wait, hmm., are you in love right now?" I asked him

"Uhm..." he said

"Well, are you??" I asked again

"Maybe" he answered

"Yes or No only twin" I said

"NES." he said

"NES?" I asked

"NES. Something in between." he told me

I stopped him from walking and made him face me, "Edward John Barber! With who?"

"Secret." he answered and kept walking.

"But I am your bestfriend, I am your twin, and you aren't even telling me" I told him as I pouted

"Okay, how about this? I promise I will tell you when I am sure of my feelings already. Okay?" he told me

"Promise twin?" I asked him

"Promise" he answered as he raised his pinky finger and I linked mine into his.

Since it is Friday today, Edward decided to stay over so we could hang out a bit more. The passed months have been so busy and though we see each other everyday, we are so busy. I don't know what came to me but I just suddenly asked him about Heaven.
