Chapter 23 - Sweet Escape

Edward and I are on our way to Manila already. I fell asleep on Edward's shoulder because it is still too early. I mean the sun didn't even rise yet and we are already on the road.

"Twin, baby.."Edward called me as he lightly shakes me.

"Baby, too early... wake me up later please" I whined and Edward chuckled.

"Sorry baby but Dad got hungry. He is inside already grabbing breakfast in McDonald's. You want anything?" he asked.

"Uhm, just you" I answered playfully.

"Well, you have me already twinnie. All of me" he answered back.

"I know baby, uhm maybe just a Sausage McMuffin, hashbrown and coffee" I requested.

"Okay, give me one second, let me just call dad"he told me as he dialed Tito Kevin. "Uhm, Dad? Yeah.. 2 Sausage McMuffin, 2 hashbrowns, coffee with milk and sugar, orange juice, and 2 water bottles please... uhm, that's it... Thanks dad" he ended the call.

"Wanna sleep more baby?" he asked as he offered his shoulder.

"Uhm, maybe later. Let's have breakfast first twin" I told him. Tito Kevin entered the car and handed our food.

As we started driving on the expressway again, Tito Kevin told me something that made me nearly choke on my breakfast.

"Maymay, I didn't know you talk in your sleep"he told me.

Edward was just smiling beside me and now I am so curious on what I said.

"Oh yeah, I just recently found out Tito. Did I say something...bad?" I asked.

"No Maymay, nothing bad, you were so cute actually" and I can see him smiling through the rear view mirror.

I kept eating my breakfast but in the back of my mind, I still want to know what I said while I was sleeping. I made a mental note to ask Edward when we are alone already.

Finally, we reached Tito Kevin's condo in Manila where Laura and him are staying. Tito Kevin has an out of town business meeting so he will be away for the weekend as well and will just pick us up on Sunday evening. This means it will just be Laura, Edward, and I all weekend long. I feel excited. This feels just like summer again with the three of us together.

Tito Kevin left us just outside the condominium building and said his goodbye. On our way up the elevator, I decided to ask Edward about what I said when I was sleeping.

"Edward?" I called him.

"Yes baby?" he asked.

"What did I say?" I asked him and his lips started to form a smile.

"Nothing you have to worry about twinnie" he told me.

"I'm not worried twin, I just want to know" I answered.

"Hmmm" he hummed.

"Please baby, pretty please" I begged as I gave him my puppy dog eyes, one that I know he cannot resist.

"You are so unfair baby! You know I can't resist that look. When did you learn how to use that against me love?" he complained adorably.

"Well, did it work?" I asked.

"Yes! Unfair!" he pouted.

"So will you tell me now? Please" I begged as I grabbed his face and squeezed it.

"Twin.. stop, fine, fine, I will" he answered back, "Well, at first..." and then the elevator chimed so he stopped talking and headed for Laura's unit.
