Chapter 18 - Summer Baby

A whole month flew by so fast. Before I knew it, I am already walking to Edward's grandparents to welcome them home. Edward and Laura are supposed to arrived by noon, so I woke up around 9AM. I received a text from Edward saying they are already at the airport in Cebu and now checking in.

After a month, I really thought he would get tired to tell me and show me his feelings. Like always though, I am wrong about that. Edward reminded me everyday of how much he loves me through his cute text messages, his sweet video messages, and constant phone calls. Even though I miss him so much, he never lets me feel sad about us being apart.

Two weeks ago, Kisses called me and we caught up. She told me that she is currently in Hongkong for a vacation so she could spend time with her parents. Her family has a hotel business and they just built one in Hongkong. So, I decided to ask her about Marco because their relationship is still quite new and they are already apart.

"Well, it is not easy because we obviously miss each other, but we are getting through it." she told me.

"I'm really happy that you guys are working out Kisses." I told her thoughtfully.

"Well, I hope you and Edward work out too, so we could do double dates" she said as she squealed on the other line.

"Hey, I'll go deaf if you don't stop squealing over there" I told her.

We caught up some more about our summer adventures and the things we look forward to for the upcoming school year. She told me to follow my heart because that can never go wrong. She is really happy with Marco, you can just feel it when she talks about him.

*BEEP*

My reminiscing is suddenly stopped when I heard my phone ring. I grabbed it and saw a text from Edward telling me that they are almost here. I don't know why I am so nervous all of a sudden. We talk everyday about everything but I feel shy all of a sudden. "Ahh, Maymay, shake it off, shake it off. He is here now." I thought and chanted the whole time I was walking there to calm my nerves.

When I was already near their house, I did some breathing exercise to calm myself down. When I got to the gate, I suddenly heard him, the voice that I would recognize anywhere. He was asking Laura a question, "So, how do I look?"

"You look okay Edward! OMG! For the twentieth time, you look okay!" She told her brother.

"No, seriously, do I look really okay?" he asked again.

This time, I didn't let Laura answer the question, "You look okay twin, Actually, no, you look handsome" I said as I walked in inside the gate. Edward got so tan after being in Cebu for a month and that just highlighted all his physical features that I like about him.

"Maymay!!!!" Laura yelled as she ran towards me and gave me a hug. I hugged her back but my eyes are locked into Edward as he was just staring at me.

"Oh, your princess is here already brother and you are just standing there?" Laura teased.

Edward scratched the back of his neck and then looked down. He looked so adorable at this moment that I started walking towards him already. Edward started walking as well and met me half way. I thought he would just hug me, but as he hugged me, I felt my feet being lifted from the driveway. He carried me gently as he twirled me around.

"I miss you so much twinnie" he said as he put me down. He hugged me again and gave me a kiss on my hair.

"I miss you too twinnie" I said as I hugged him back. This feels like home. I rested my head on his chest and he put his chin on top of my head. We just stayed in that position until Laura decided to join in as she said, "GROUP HUG!!!!"
