Chapter 12 - Back To You

I ran outside the hall because I just cannot cry in front of all our schoolmates. After I found out everything, I slapped Tanner and left everyone on the dance floor. Some were oblivious to what was happening since we were surrounded by so many people dancing around us. And though, the tension was so clear to people who knew us, we also looked like we were just discussing something serious. Since we are the head of the student council, people just assumed that we were discussing school matters.

As soon as I got outside, I let the tears roll down my cheeks. I sat on the bench in the garden and started crying. I hugged myself because aside from the coldness of the air tonight, I also felt so lonely and sad. I have no feelings towards Tanner but what he did to me is unforgivable. I couldn't stop crying until I felt someone put a jacket around me.

I looked up and saw Edward beside me. "Edward?" I whispered

He hugged me as he sat on the bench beside me, "Shh May. Shh. He is not here anymore, I won't let him near you anymore" he said calming me down

"Edward" All I could say is his name because I was still crying so hard.

"I know, i know May. Shhh, my twin. I am right here" he said

And he was just there, hugging me, letting me cry in his arms as I soaked his shirt with my tears. I cried and cried until I felt better. Edward is just like that, as always. He just knew what to do with me all the time. He didn't tell me to stop crying but instead, he just let me cry in his arms as if making me feel that he is just there, that I am not alone.

"Edward, how did you know?" I whispered. He knew exactly what I was referring to.

"Are you sure you wanna talk about it already?" he asked me, concern written all over his face.

I nodded as a tear escaped my eyes once again. He wiped it with his thumb as he began telling me.

"I was in the washroom earlier, you know performing VP duties, making sure no one is doing anything illegal in the washroom. As I was by the washroom door, I heard someone mentioned your name so I became curious. I peeked in through the door and saw a bunch of senior boys talking about you and Tanner. I wanted to walk away because... well, that's  not important right now, I'll tell you some other time, okay?"

I nodded, so he continued with his story.

"I heard them talking about how Tanner seems to be winning the bet. I heard that Tanner is so pissed that he didn't drive you to prom tonight because for him to win this bet, he needs to sleep with you tonight" he said, anger now clear in his voice.

I shivered at the thought of what could've happened tonight. Edward probably thought that I was so cold so he held me tighter in his arms. "But Edward, Kisses brought us in and that is how we are getting home tonight too" I told him

"I know, I heard about that but apparently he asked his twin, Tyler, to bring his car over. He has it all planned twin. He was planning to put something in your drink and.. and..." he said

"Shhh, I think I know enough." I told him

"I'm sorry I ruined your prom twin, but I couldn't control my emotions. I was so mad. No, I was furious that I ran from the washroom and I just had to look for you. I wanted to make sure that you are still safe and when I saw you on the dance floor with Tanner, I just lost it." he said

"Twin? Are you serious? You are apologizing for saving me?" I said smiling at him

He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Saving you huh?" he smiled

"Yes. Again, Edward John, saving the day. Thank you" I hugged him so tight and that was the scene that Kisses and Marco saw when they came rushing to us.
