Around 11pm, I heard my phone ringing and saw my dad calling me. I answered and he was asking where I was, worry clear in his voice. As soon as I told him I was with Edward, he sounded so relax all of a sudden. He even asked if he could speak to Edward so I handed him my phone.
"Dad wants to talk to you" I told him
He took the phone from my hand and I tried to listen in their conversation, all I can hear is Edward on the other line, "Okay Tito....Promise, I will take care of her... We will be home soon... I promise to bring her in one piece... Bye Tito, see you later." and he ended the call.
I took my phone back and saw a big smile on his face, "What are you smiling about twin?" I asked him
"Ahh, nothing. I just realized that I have missed your family too." he said
I smiled at this, "I miss Tita Cathy too, you know?"
"You will see her tomorrow evening. Actually, you will see my mom, dad, and Laura. They are attending our recognition day tomorrow because even though I am just second honor, they are very proud of me." he said with a laugh.
Edward is second honor and I am first. It was such a close fight between me and him, our average were so close.
"You have to do better next year if you want to take over me twin" I told him jokingly.
"You know my parents are still very proud of me but Laura, you will meet her tomorrow, she is just as crazy as you. Laura was teasing me because for the first time, I accepted to be second honor because in the past, like you, I have always been first. I told her that for the first time, I finally found my match." he admitted
"It was a good fight twin." I said as I laughed. "So your parents and your sister are all there tomorrow huh?" I asked
"Yeah. I mean, my parents are still separated. I think mom is still hurting from dad and doesn't fully trust him yet, but they are coming for me. Also, they want to meet you because I told them plenty of stories about you. From our summer adventures to our crazy school ones" he told me
"Right! I am excited to meet them! Speaking of summer, where are you spending yours this time? I'll be at Lolo's farm again." I told him
"Well, I think for the first month, I will be with Laura and Dad in Cebu. But for the second month, Laura and I will join you. It will be just like last summer but with my sister this time, you guys will get along twin. I promise you" he told me.
Edward brought me home around midnight. My dad was waiting for us in our porch and hugged me and Edward together. "I miss you kid" he told Edward. I smiled at this scene, it truly warms my heart. As soon as my dad and Edward finished catching up, my dad finally went inside leaving me and Edward alone.
"Thanks Edward, for bringing me home, for being my hero, for coming back, for everything" I told him.
"Anytime twinnie, remember, I am always here for you" he said.
"I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" I told him.
"Okay, Bye twinnie" he said as he hugged me so tight.
He headed towards our gate, and I realized that I am still wearing his coat jacket. So, I ran after him, "Edward, wait!" I yelled
He immediately stopped and turned around, so we ended up bumping into each other. I nearly fell but he caught me in his arms. Our face nearly touching, "Are you okay?" he asked.
There it goes again, the emotions I am so familiar with. My heartbeat so loud and fast, my throat dry, my breathing irregular, and the world stopping.
