The stereotypes of rain 365 days a year and sunburn at 10°C raise questions about whether there is any upsides to Ireland's summers.
From sideways rain to thunder and hailstorms, the "warmer months" can be a bit unpredictable on our shores.
But as the nice weather creeps back in again, we're reminding ourselves of all the things we love about this time of year.

1) The championship  (The All-Ireland. The competition GAA fans country-wide wait for every year. A great reason for excitement for the summer)

2) Sunny beach days ( In Ireland, it's not a good idea to rely on good weather to go to the beach, so you learn to adapt and stop caring about hail, rain or sunshine at the beach)

3) The irish summer smell ( The classic mixture of barbecue grills and cut grass. Name a more iconic duo)

4) The sun ( Besides freezing winter mornings, the summer is the only time you'll probably actually see the sun in its entirety. Such occasions are cause for great celebration and Irish people to get half naked)

5) The sunburn ( The trademark Irish summer body; the combination of blood red on the arms and page white everywhere else)

6) Hope for dry weather ( Every summer there's an Irish dream of no rain, but every summer we're let down)

7) Time with family and friends  ( Whether it's a weekend away, or even a picnic in the park, it's nice to be around those you're close with)

8) weeks away ( It's hard to leave out the most dreamed-of time of the year - the holidays. Whether you're going down the country or flying abroad, it's very needed and most deserved to take a break from work and school. But why do they go abroad? A caravan in dingle used to suit us grand )

9) Buying suncream with the notion of using all of it ( But come on, it's Ireland. You will never have to do that)

10) the excitement of seeing a red sunset ( Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. Seeing a red sunset is a true sign of a rare, nice day tomorrow )

11) The best part is, you can dry about five loads of clothes in the good weather ( Sun dried clothes)

12) And we completely ignore the fact that we just can't handle the sun that well ( We just aren't used to it)
