Right. Here's a topic I've been wanting to talk about for ages. Modern day schooling. So, let's get into it.
We all went inside a school at some point in our life. Whether it was open day, a charity event etc. 20% of the population, which are kids go to it. I don't like school. But see, people like me, who don't like school, still have to go, because apparently "you'll be nothing when you're older". But see, that's the thing; you either have to go to school or else you won't be successful. Like, i get why some people like it. I call them scholars.
Let's get to the proper part.Albert Einstein once said everybody's a genius ( taken from the video above) and i agree on that. But school only teaches like one way. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will its life believing that it is stupid. Dear teachers...DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW MANY CHILDREN IN SCHOOL FEEL LIKE THAT FISH? Not only does he (as in school system) Make the fish climb a tree, but he also makes it run. Tell me teachers, are you proud of the things you have done? Do you not know how many students can relate to that fish? They go to school for 5-8 hours a day to do what? School starts way too early. 7am until 4pm (that's only in my school though) and teachers seem to think that students are prepared to learn that early in the morning? Excuse me! Teenagers brains aren't active until at least 10am. An experiment was conducted in England and the principal found that when teenagers get up at their usual time, 10am, they are happier, they get up themselves and the schools academic levels rose. Also, stop giving us this "one size fits all bullshit"! Every student learns differently. No two brains are same! My case in point: ask any scientist around the world or someone with two or more kids. They will agree this statement is true. It's like a doctor's prescription. If everyone got the same medicine, imagine the results. In fact, teachers should be paid as much as doctor's because they could change the life of a kid in some way, they just cant. My next point: a modern day phone vs old day phone. Big difference. Same with a car. But a classroom? Gimme a Break. You used the same classroom centuries ago. You used to train people to work in factories which explains why it seems you aren't preparing us for the future. However, it's not the teachers themselves what's the problem, it's the overall system. Tests. A word which defines if a student is worthless or not. School should only teach the subjects we'll really need, like Maths, Business and possibly the language we learn. But no more than that. I mean, students don't know how much their mortgage will be but at least they know the diagram of a heart! Take a look at Singapore. They have shorter school days, they focus on calibration and homework is non existent. Here's the kicker: it overrules every other school system. Countries like Finland are following in the steps of this. Also, stop saying that mental health isn't a big deal. It is. You would not say that about cancer so why say that about mental health? Also, students struggle with the same amount of anxiety a person in an insane asylum back then would. And you seem to think it's because of technology? Technology is the blame to everything in your P.O.V. No, it's because the World is changing around us all the time. As well as that, school is the problem.
I rest my case
