Confrontation

Morgana stormed up to Alfie as he sat at the dining table, spooning up cereal. "Hi Morgana!" He smiled innocently, looking up at her, his deep blue eyes sparkling like the ocean. Morgana snapped herself out of her momentary daze - and slapped him across the face.

Alfie looked completely nonplussed. "Morgana - I - what?!" Morgana was possibly more furious than she had ever been in her whole life. She glared at him, stared him down, trying to see past his innocent expression. She felt a low growl rise in her throat and was afraid she might just transform into a dog and attack him.

"You know exactly what!" she snarled. "Or do you need me to refresh your memory? Have you kissed so many girls since Saturday night that you can't remember?" Alfie looked terrified as she growled at him, but quickly retorted. "I don't know what you mean."

By now everyone at the Gryffindor table had turned to stare at the arguing couple. There was a gasp as Morgana drew her wand and pointed it into Alfie's face threateningly. "Morgana!" He whispered, looking horrified. "What are you doing?"

"Tell me the truth about what happened on Saturday night - right now. Tell me, you loathsome git, or I'll make you regret it!" She shrieked. Alfie trembled slightly. "She kissed me, Morgana, I promise, it wasn't the other way around. I'd never do that to you-" Morgana cut him off by kicking him, hard, in the shin.

"It was her? Alright then, so why didn't you pull away? Or even come and tell me afterwards what had happened?" Alfie opened his mouth to shoot back an answer, but then closed it again. "You make me sick," Morgana spat, turning on her heel. "Morgana, please, I'm sorry! Please, give me a chance! Let me make it up to you!" He cried, grabbing her hand and pulling her back. She pulled away from him. "Get off me! I gave you a chance, and now I realise it wasn't worth it." She sighed, staring at him. "Four years," she whispered. "Four years, and this is how it ends."

Morgana couldn't face sitting at the table with that git, so she crept over to the Hufflepuff table and slipped into an empty space beside Teddy Lupin. Emma took first prize on the friend podium, but Teddy was up there too. Today, he was in one of those brooding, silent, uncooperative moods he often went into, and Morgana knew exactly why.

"Full moon tonight," she whispered squeezing his hand. Teddy almost jumped out of his skin, and then realised it was just his friend sitting beside him. "Yeah," he replied, his expression unreadable. Full moons were hard for Teddy, unbearably hard. He was a half-werewolf, and full moons put him through a lot of pain. They reminded him of his father, and he always remembered what Remus had went through every month.

No one really understood why Teddy and Morgana often disappeared on nights when the full moons hung in the sky. Em had just accepted it, along with all Morgana's other weird and wonderful perks, like - the fact that she occasionally turned into a dog?

The two of them always met close to the Whomping Willow, where their fathers had met all those years ago. Morgana would morph into a dog and touch the knot on the tree with her paw, before they slipped down the passage into the Shrieking Shack.

This place meant so much to both of them, as it was where their fathers had spent every full moon all those years ago. Harry had also told Morgana that it was where he was first reunited with Sirius, and so both teenagers liked to spend the full moon at the "haunted" shack.

"What time tonight?" Morgana asked Teddy. "Eleven thirty," he replied. "Just to make sure we're not followed." Morgana nodded and they quickly changed the subject, spending the rest of breakfast talking about school. Well, it was more like Teddy lecturing Morgana and her listening to his lectures.

Sadly, her short time of bliss with Teddy, all thoughts of Alfie out of her head, had to end. She bid him goodbye and they parted until later that evening.

Things might be awkward for a while. But then, why was there any reason for things to be awkward? Alfie had cheated, Morgana had confronted him, and they were over. End of story. However, Morgana felt almost certain that their conversation this morning might be repeated a few times before Alfie would just move on.

In fact, it was only when John Fortis waved shyly at her, and she waved back, a little shy too, that Morgana realised she might be the one to move on.

Ooh! Could there be something in the air between John and Morgana? What will Emma think? And what will Morgana and Teddy get up to over the full moon? Find out next Chapter.
