Emma Fortis didn't quite seem herself and Morgana wanted to know why. She had barely touched her cappuccino, even though the girls had been in the coffee shop for almost half an hour. "Ems," Morgana said quietly.

Emma looked up in surprise. "Yeah?"

Her best friend sighed. "What's up?" She demanded.

"Nothing!" Emma insisted. "Nothing, I'm absolutely fine."

Morgana looked at Scarlett across the table. She laid a hand on Emma's knee. "Emma, sweetie, Morgana's right, you've not been yourself today. Come on, what is it?"

Emma set down her coffee cup heavily and looked over at Morgana. "I'm... I'm sorry," she sighed. "I'm not trying to ruin the day or anything, it just feels so weird. I mean - you're getting fitted for a wedding dress! You!"

Morgana laughed. "It's not a big deal Em, honest. I just have to run into the shop to try a couple of dresses so they can get an idea of what I'm looking for. You're supposed to do it way in advance. Forget about that, I'm just getting it over with while we're in the city centre. We're here for my birthday!" She clinked her coffee mug against Scarlett's.

"I know. It just feels really serious now. I can't believe you're getting married." She turned to Scarlett, sitting beside her. "And you and Johnny are having a baby! It just feels like everything's changed since leaving school, and I've stayed exactly the same. I mean, I'm still living with Mum and Dad, I'm training, sure, but it feels just like classes at school..."

"There's nothing wrong with that, Em!" Scarlett told her soothingly. "I don't know about you Morgana, but for me things are moving insanely quickly. Merlin's sake, I've got my twenty week scan on Friday!"

Morgana nodded quickly. "Completely! Braxas and I aren't rushing things-"

"Apart from getting engaged," Emma muttered under her breath.

"But it already feels like so much has changed!" Her friend continued. "He's always over at mine, he keeps talking about when we should have the wedding and where the ceremony would be and stuff. It's exciting, don't get me wrong, but it's daunting."

"Have you two... y'know?" Scarlett leaned across the table to whisper, winking suggestively.

Morgana looked down at the ground. "No, not yet. We've kinda talked about it but... I don't know, I feel like we're not ready for that yet."

"But you're getting married!" Scarlett exclaimed. "It has to happen at some point or another!"

"I know," Morgana conceded. "The time just hasn't felt right for either of us yet."

"Cameron and I haven't either," Emma admitted quietly. "In fact, things have felt kind of weird between us for awhile. We haven't really talked as much since we started working. I mean - he's a fantastic guy, we just don't really have - I don't know - a spark? We get along really well, I just don't think either of us is that serious about the other."

"Aww, Em!" Scarlett put her arm around the young woman beside her. "It's ok, you don't have to do anything drastic! I know it feels like everything's moving at the speed of light at the minute, but it's all going to be fine. And your training's going so well! You'll be a healer soon. That's pretty cool!"

Emma smiled sadly. "Yeah. Yeah, training's pretty good."

"Don't even talk to me about training," Morgana groaned, finishing her coffee and setting down the empty mug. "I only have a month left before I go into supervised placement. By the start of March, if either of you commits a crime, I could be the one processing you."
