"EM!" Morgana screamed, flinging herself on her friend. "Em Em Em Em Em we need to talk Em Fortis Fortis Fortis Fortis Emma. Emma. Em. Emma Fortis. Fortis Fortis Fortis-"

"WHAT?!"

Morgana smirked. "We need to talk about something," she began. Em sighed. "Yes, I'd figured that much." "So, when Harry and all were at school, they had this secret society, called Dumbledore's Army. They learned defensive spells. And they had these amazing coins that heated up and showed the time of the meeting like a clock face so you'd know when to-" "That's incredibly advanced magic!" Morgana nodded. "Do you think you could pull it off?"

Em looked startled. "Well, yes, probably, but - why do you need it?" Morgana grinned. "I'm going to restart the D.A."

Emma shook her head. "No! Absolutely not! We have exams-" Morgana nodded. "Relax. It's like a...a defence study group." Em raised her eyebrows. "And you'll teach it, then, if I perform this magic for the coin?" Morgana grinned and high fived her.

"Hey! Psst, Tina! Tina A-G!" Morgana hissed from the corner she was hiding in. Tina ducked in beside her. "Yeah?" Morgana passed her one of the leaflets Em had made. "Secret society," she explained in a low voice. If you want to join it, just come to Gryffindor Common Room tonight. Password's Exercitum Novum."

Tina went on to class, and Morgana lunged out to grab Teddy's arm. "We're reestablishing the D.A." Before Teddy could open his mouth, she pressed a flier into his hand and pushed him off down the corridor. "Tonight, my common room, you know the password."

More people than they'd ever expected showed up to the meeting. There were Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws and even one Slytherin, for Tina Accrington-Goldstein would not miss this for the world. Morgana stood up to address the little crowd that had gathered on the plump, red sofas of the Gryffindor Common Room.

"So, most of you probably don't have a clue why you're here," she began. "But we're thinking of restarting a secret club that existed at Hogwarts a few years ago. Well, I say club, it was more like a - an army." Murmurs began to circulate around the room, and Morgana continued. "A few of you may have heard about Dumbledore's Army. It's a society to learn defensive magic, perhaps more advanced than what we learn in the classroom, and work on what we know. We'll meet in secret." She looked around the room. "And you get a really cool coin," she added quickly. "Any questions?"

"Who'll be teaching it?" Lexi Boot asked. Morgana smiled proudly. "Me, we think. I might need a bit of help, though." Teddy Lupin raised his hand. "Where do we meet?" Morgana thought for a moment. "The room of requirement." She grinned while many students muttered at the utter brilliance of the whole thing.

"So, if you want to belong to the Army, just sign your name on this list."

An immediate queue began forming at the table on which Em had placed an old sheet of parchment, which she had adorned with the letters DA in a beautiful swirling hand. She had designed a sort of crest, proudly stating, "ESTD 1995". Morgana and Emma had already signed their names, and Johnny was quick off the mark to sign his directly under his sister's. Morgana marvelled at the way they both wrote in the same neat print, even making their S's the same way.

Johnny handed the quill to his girlfriend, and Scarlett quickly scrawled her name under his, before handing the quill to Teddy, who signed in a messy, printed font, looking thoroughly delighted.

In total they collected nineteen signatures on the sheet, including Alice Elphick, Victoire Weasley, Lexi Boot and Timothy Bridges. Morgana smiled as she studied the list, which had got all crumpled and dog-eared in the process of nineteen students signing it. It seemed to pulse with the mischief and magic that was Hogwarts.

Once everyone had left the common room, the girls went upstairs to their dorm, but they couldn't sleep a wink. Emma began to enchant the fake galleons while the rest of the girls marvelled at her advanced range of magic - all except Michelle, who had her nose stuck in the air and was scarcely acknowledging the presence of the others. She hadn't even shown up at the meeting. Good thing, too, Morgana though, cause she probably would have ratted them out first chance she got.

The galleons were distributed the very next day, much to the delight of Morgana and the other eighteen members. In fact, Morgana couldn't wait to try it out. She used to coin to summon the rest to the room of requirement the very next evening.

The first meeting wasn't very eventful. They discussed rules about keeping the secret gang secret, and everyone was shown how to open the room. Then Georgia Young raised her hand. "What's the first spell we'll be learning?" Morgana thought for a moment. "I'd thought we'd just start by reviewing what we all already know on defence. Get everyone up to speed. In fact, we could start right now," she mused.

And so they did. They started on a simple disarming spell, Morgana helping the few younger students who were struggling slightly. "Expelliarmus!" Cried Scarlett, and Johnny's wand flew out of his hand. He insisted he was "taking it easy on her". "Yeah right!" Em retorted. She had quickly disarmed Timothy Bridges, who made the same excuse. "Stop going easy on each other and just do it!" Morgana yelled at one point, and a vast array of stunning spells were shot at the same time, with precision and ferocity. "That's more like it!"

The meetings continued into April. Before long, all nineteen students had mastered disarming, stunning, shield charms, jelly-legs jinxes and the impedimenta jinx.

Morgana had decided to hold a duelling competition for their last meeting before they took a break for exams (Emma had insisted) and she was teaming up the pupils. "Let's see... Emma and Lexi, Georgia and Samara, Teddy and Johnny, Mark and Daniel, David and Victoire. Hold on - Eden, you go with Harriet, Simon with Alice, Timothy and Scarlett and Tina with Grace. Perfect!"

Morgana observed as the pupils began to fire spells at each other. "The winners of these duels will then go against each other, and we'll keep going and going." Lexi and Emma fuelled fiercely, eventually calling it off as a tie, Samara beat Georgia when she stunned her, Johnny was the clear winner of their duel (which Teddy argued against strongly) and Daniel narrowly beat Mark, with a sneaky expelliarmus.

Next Em duelled her brother, while  Lexi went against Samara, Daniel faced Victoire, Eden duelled Alice and Timothy faced Tina.

It was too hard to pick winners, so eventually it was settled that everyone had come on quite well. "What're we doing after exams?" Tina asked, slightly out of breath. Morgana thought for a looked around the room. "I'd thought we might try spells like levicorpus and maybe tarantellegra?" Several people murmured in agreement and Morgana proudly dismissed the meeting. "See you all after exams!"

That evening, the returned to the Gryffindor dorm and Emma forced Morgana to study. "Come on, if you don't pass you OWLs you won't ever get to be an auror." This made Morgana open her Potions book, and Em smirked to herself as she pointed out tips for brewing giggling Potions and veritiserum.

Morgana was glad that her endeavours with the DA had succeeded, but now one very important thing lay ahead - her Ordinary Wizarding Level Examinations, more commonly known as

   OWLs.
