When someone says they love you,
They don't cheat, lie or steal
When someone says they love you
You don't second guessit's real
When someone starts to cry,
We know to ask "Are you okay?"
When someone starts to cry,
There's not a lot that we can say
When someone close may live to die
We say "I'm sorry for your loss"
When someone close may live to die
We say "Know your risks and costs"
When someone goes to leave
We can't make them stay
When someone doesn't leave
We can't make them go away
When someone smiles at your face
We know to smile back
When someone frowns at your face
We can't make a smile crack
When something happens in this time,
We know that we can't change.
We know what happened in this time
A thing so soft and strange
And something may have happened
That made you feel so small
But no one on this earth
Can make you feel so tall
So tall, head up in the sky
That you can touch your dreams
We have to know that it is not
Always what it seems
When someone says they love you
It's not always true
So keep this all in your mind
When you hear "I love you."
