Beyond the Window

There was a face
Beyond the window
It stared so sad and tired
There was lips
So pale and cracked
Wrought with years of sorrow
It used to smile
As all once did
It used to laugh and sing
And now that face
Beyond the window
Sits in silence
Deepened yearning
The years have passed
But still it stays
Seeing through the defunct
What went wrong
Beyond the window
That caused such wretchedness
Watch the fireworks
Dance like widows
Weave their web or mourn their dead
For the face
Beyond the window
Eyes are drooping
Pace thyself
It may be stuck
The fog will clear and sunshine arise
Joviality will come
Before the window
Open it
