Death is Love's Secret

I've never seen

You smile so much

You giggle at my words

And beam at my touch

*

Your head nuzzles in

Just under my arm

I succumb to your body

I succumb to your charm

*

We are so close

And it is so real

You are the only one

Who can truly make me feel

*

So into your arms

I find myself falling

But you turn a deaf ear

To all my heart's calling

*

You shove me away

Until fear grips me so

I see your hand on my throat

My vision's starting to go

*

That can't be true

It was only a dream

So things cannot be

What they may see or may seem

*

But I wake with the bruises

And I feel all the pain

What did you get from that

What did you gain

*

It wasn't you

And it wasn't me

But I could've died

At your hand you see

*

I was honestly scared

From your soft pet

But I knew you cared so

I stayed as still as I get

*

I shook in fear

From the one that I love

Her touch was more innocent

Than that of a dove

*

But sweet girl

I saw all that change

Difference in your eyes

No soul, only rage

*

To think less fight

Could've ended my life

From you, my love

It cuts like a knife

*

If love was our secret

When really it is

It is not love

But rage with a twist.
