Nothing Is Normal (invader Zim X reader)

You were sitting in the cafeteria with Dib, however you weren't paying attention to Dib's rambling. While sitting in class, you had noticed that Zim made a few scribbles on your drawing, and next to each scribble was an arrow pointing to a different area on the sketch. Finally you noticed Dib attempting to get your attention, "hello? Earth to (y/n), trying to help me save the human race, remember?" You shook your head, "huh? Oh sorry Dib". Dib looked at you for a second, "you okay? You seem kinda out of it today", you bit your lip, and put the drawing out for Dib to see, "I gave this drawing to Zim yesterday, and he gave it back with all these weird scribbles, what do you think it means?" Dib's eyes went wide, "(y/n)! This is his species writing!" Dib said in excitement, snatching the drawing away from you. He slid the drawing into his computer, the computer started to scan your drawing and translate what it said. It was mostly labels, but Dib was getting more and more excited by the second, "(y/n) do you know how long I've been trying to see Zim's spelling?! This is amazing!" Dib yelled practically shaking you back and fourth in happiness. You looked at his face, only to be greeted by a wide smile, "yes, Dib, it's awesome I know" you giggled, taking his hands off your shoulders. Although Zim didn't seem too happy about this little celebration, you were glad that Dib was happy and all, but you didn't keep your eyes off Zim. You were done being a scared little girl, you and the alien were making direct eye contact from across the cafeteria, and they were not the happy, playful glares, these were the glares of two enemies. Zim almost looked shocked to see that you were not trying to look away, or look the slightest bit nervous, he growled under his breath. Dib started to ramble again,
"T-h-e! (Y/n)!, I'm reading Irken language!" You raised your eyebrow "Irken? What's that?" Dib paused for a moment "Oh, that's Zim's species!", he explained, not pulling his eyes away from his computer, "that's cool" you said, but you never stopped giving Zim that glare. The bell finally rang, you got up with your bag, "come on Dib", Dib started putting all of his stuff away, and followed you, Gaz caught up with you two and groaned, "you're both such nerds", you rolled your eyes, "hey, I'm just trying to help your brother", Gaz sighed in annoyance,"sure, whatever". Recess was okay, Zim didn't bother you and Dib, Zim was actually playing with some other kids, however, all you and Dib were doing was talking about Zim's language the whole recess, pretty boring if anything. When the bell rang for your last class, you practically pulled Dib into the building, just to get it over with, and go home. Of course Dib made his way across the classroom, while you made your way behind Zim, trying your best not to look at the green boy. Half an hour into class, and you felt something on your knee, you looked down, and saw Zim secretly scanning you, with a little machine. Immediately you kicked it away, Zim held his hand in pain. Wow
