Nothing Is Normal (invader Zim X reader)

After you had explained the concept of food and happiness to Zim you two headed outside, but you both sat on the stairs under the canopy to stay dry. Zim needed to be dry especially, which you decided to ask him about "hey zimmy?" "Don't call Zim that" "sorry, but I'm kinda curious, why do Irkens burn with water, or any kind of liquid?" Zim looked out into the rain and thought "I'm not sure, it's horribly painful though". It was quiet for a moment "well I like it" you admitted, "why?" Zim asked "I dunno it's just peaceful to look at, you have to be honest about that at least", Zim sighed "yes, peaceful..but painful" "yeah". For the whole recess you two sat together, kinda just enjoying each others company, occasionally you would stick out your hand out into the rain, and show Zim how the droplets would slide off your fingers, and occasionally Zim would stick out his finger out to show you his sizzling skin. But despite how relaxing and interesting things were between you two, some kids started to take notice, and it made you both uncomfortable. Once it was nearing the end of recess, you and Zim got up and went inside a few minutes early, you two went to Miss Bitters class, Dib was already there, typing on his phone. To avoid awkwardness, you and Zim stayed a good distance away, sadly you both ended up feeling awkward anyway, the reason, is because kids had noticed you and Zim talking and laughing at lunch and had noticed you two sitting underneath the canopy together. Perhaps they thought it was weird? It was Zim after all, since when did he ever talk to humans, a girl nonetheless, to you it was kinda stupid to just randomly assume that a girl and boy were  dating if they did stuff like that. When you both stepped into the classroom, everyone started cooing and making kissing sounds, you were disgusted and Zim looked like he was about to vomit. For the rest of the class anyone that asked about him, you would always say "I HARDLY KNOW HIM!" And Zim would yell "WHY WOULD I DATE A DISGUSTING HUMAN?!" But every time they would bring up the fact that Zim had your sweater, you eventually got tired of it, "Zim I need my sweater back" Zim nodded "I agree! Zim has gotten tired of this!" He grabbed your sweater and pulled it off, exposing his green belly in the process, like an idiot you saw his green belly and blushed, and the class lost it, making cooing sound and yelling the 'K-I-S-S-I-N-G' song. Zim quickly fixed his shirt and gave you the sweater, you snatched it away and shoved it in your bag, "human, your face is red" "I know that, Zim!"
After class you and Zim headed outside trying to avoid everyone, once again you two stood underneath the canopy, you opened up your umbrella and looked out into the heavy rain "oh, umm do you want me to walk you home? You'll burn out there" Zim shook his head "of course not! The great, amazing Zim can wait until it's over!" You giggled "okay, sure" you two stood at the edge of the canopy, "so..I'll see you tomorrow then?" Zim was about to answer until, practically out of nowhere, Dib pushed Zim roughly into the rain, immediately he started sizzling, he ran in circles screaming in pain. You looked at Dib who was laughing extremely hard, you were stunned..Zim suddenly fell gripping his sides in pain, you snapped out of your stupid daze and jump off the stairs quickly almost tripping, you quickly put the umbrella over Zim, you could hardly see him because of the steam but he was okay, in pain, but okay. He looked up at you and cringed in pain "s..stupid..ugh..stupid Dib..he..ow". You don't know why, but you got extremely angry at Dib.
