Living up in space. On an Ark. Basically the apocalypse escaping version of Noah's Ark. We were taught something simple. Every actions counts. Every action is watched. You are floated for a crime, even a petty one. That is if you are an adult. But if you are younger than that, it's a little slap on the wrist and you are fed and will survive until you are 18 in which you get sent to your death. It's a beautiful cycle of violence. I looked across from me seeing my bland cell walls. I was one of those unlucky few that were imprisoned. I stole some food. My adoptive parents weren't feeding me. My father. He was unknown. No one claimed me. My mother died giving birth to me. So I was given to anyone who would take me. My given family, they only used me to get extra food. They fed me sometimes. But it wasn't enough. The human body, well it says that if in extreme circumstances can survive 21 days without food. The most I went was 8. My name is Bellatrix. It meant Female warrior. It was a constellation of the Orion. The star that turned a bright teal colour. I guess I didn't really mind the name too much.

I was never really close with anyone. I had the losers I used to be friends with, Miller, Murphy, Jasper and Monty. But I would never say I was close. Well I was always closest with Miller. He let me have some of his food. He and his boyfriend were cute. Snapping my dark brown eyes up at the suddenly open door I saw the guards walk through.

"Prisoner 199 face the wall." He ordered causing me to glance up and then stumble to my feet doing as he said. I had faced the bitter end of the justice system. Not like I wanted to be bruised for days. "Hold out your arm." I followed the instructions they then forced a bracelet on me and shoved me out of the room. I looked around and saw Miller in the box next to mine walking next to me as the guards directed us where to go.

"Where you think we're going?" Miller asked seriously. I guess we were all afraid of what the answer might be. Death was inevitable when you were locked up. No one survived. No one.

"I'm guessing it involves a lot of death." I found myself sassing as we were pushed around the corner. Tightening my raven haired high ponytail I gave Miller a tight lipped smile.

"We'll it's been good knowing you Blackwell." Miller nodded to her as they were shoved in a line. I stumbled into a brown haired girl who looked at me timidly and then looked back to the front. I watched as we were all pushed to board. Climbing into the dropship I walked to the nearest seat and groaned looking over to see Murphy sitting next to me.

"Well if it isn't my least favourite slummer." Murphy dryly commented as the drop ship was launched. I looked around as it shook every now and again.

"Hm looks like hell came early if I have you sit next to you." I snarled at him but a teasing smile formed its way onto my lips as Murphy chuckled.

"It's been too long Blackwell." Murphy commented as his eyes grazed over me.

"Gross." I chuckled as the TV turned on showing Jaha.

"Prisoners of the Ark, hear me now, you have been given a second chance, and as your chancellor I hope you see this as not just a chance for you but a chance for all of us. Indeed for mankind itself. We have no idea what is waiting for you down there. If the odds of survival were better we would have sent others, frankly we are sending you because your crimes have made you expendable and if you somehow to survive...then those crimes will be forgive. Your records wiped clean, your drop site has been chosen carefully, Mount Weather, a military base built within a mountain that has to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain you for up to two years. No one ever made it there because we couldn't..." Jaha continued on but I only looked at the static TV annoyed.

"God I guess he floated us all." I joked but was then violently thrown and I dug my hand into Murphy's thigh causing him to grunt in pain. Once the drop ship stopped everyone began running out of their seats. I followed throwing my belts off and climbing up the ladder with everyone and walking forward to where everyone was going to.
