Roselia's POV

-Saturday-

Last night, Vanessa was in no possession of glue. I had to will myself to stay awake the entire night to prevent myself from hallucinating in my dreams. When I saw the sun started to shine, I immediately got out of bed and shook Vanessa's body vigorously. She was reluctant at first due to it being only around 5 a.m. Eventually, she heeded my constant shaking and drove me home.

As soon as my shoes (that belonged to Vanessa) touched the mahogany wood of my home, I darted to the storage room to find glue or any other adhesive I could find, careful not to make any noise. With the adhesive in my hand, I tip-toed to my room.

The small bland room I was comfortable in had a magnetic pull on my body. Correction, my bed had an undeniable gravitational pull. My legs were already directing me towards it unconsciously.

Before things got out of hand, I pulled out the glue and applied it on my eyelids, over and over again. I slumped on my bed and grabbed a novel to reread as I waited for sunlight; it was much easier for me to stay awake with the sun in my eyes. As my eyelids stuck together to prevent it from closing in on my eyeballs, I felt secure under the fact that I will not be falling asleep any time soon.

The sunlight blasted into my room and I knew that was the time I could finally start my activities for the day. I just needed to stay awake, otherwise, I would have to be fooled by my own mind that a certain jerk showed an interest in me. Platonic or not, I didn't want my relationship with him to evolve beyond enemies. The only label I felt safe in was 'enemies' with him and I could feel my brain agreeing with me but my indigestion begged to differ. I'll ask Dani about our doctor's appointment.

Jumping out of bed, I walked to the bathroom towards the sink to wash my face from the dried glue in my eyelids. Ahh... Cold water was something I required, it washed off any feeling of sleepiness I had left in my eyes. I patted my face dry with a dry towel and hung it on a hanger behind my door.

Certain dark pieces of clothing caught my eye. Dani forgot to collect the laundry I hung on the back of my door. But what bothered me was the thought of the owner. Crap, I have to wash it, disinfect it and might have to cut some holes in it to spite him but that would be pathetic. He gave me back the can of soda and helped me with my previous incident the other day, I couldn't possibly ruin his monotone outfit. Not yet, anyway. I had to find another reason.

I was so caught up in my thoughts that I forgot I still had his hoodie around my waist, tied at the front, an aftermath of last night's incident. Heat raced to my face as a memory rushed to my brain about the period incident where he made myself a laughing stock then tied his hoodie around my waist.

Warmth spread from my heart to the rest of my body. Huh, I must be getting a fever. I did feel fatigued but I still haven't decided whether it was due to lack of sleep or an imminent fever.

Without a moment to waste, I untied it out of my waist and reached for the sweatpants along with the hoodie. The sudden movement dragged in a blow of air into my direction, carrying the all-too-familiar odour of the ocean. The scent that made me feel safe.

I slapped myself in hopes of both waking me up and snapping me out of delirium. I only succeeded in one task out of the two.

Sprinting down to the laundry room, a confused Dani sitting on the couch followed my every move. I tried my best to shield the discernable male clothes on my hand and dunked it immediately into the washing machine.

"What happened yesterday?" Dani asked as she watched the news in the living room.

I considered telling her that I almost became a victim of an assault but heroically imagined the suspect was a green alligator and that I neutralized him. But her response would be to send me to Guantanamo bay just because I wasn't responsible. "Just a sleepover at Vanessa's like any other."
