Roselia's POV
After listing down things we hated about the other, I felt relieved that I remembered each and every flaw he had. None of it was about his appearance, of course. It was somewhere along the lines of his stupidity, his ignorance-admirable to a certain extent-, his cocky attitude and all the glory he felt entitled to. His of mine were things I was proud of; my know-it-all behaviour (intelligence), my ability to stumble upon trouble (pure luck), my lack of ability to calculate risks (innocence), my disability to back down from people who wanted to help me (independence). Although at that last part, he added in a few words of curses on me. Nevertheless, his voluble expression of his hatred towards me elevated my pride.
"Here, let me help." Jasper approached Dani who was carrying layers of plates towards the dining table. With one arm, he gathered the porcelain in his hands and placed it at the centre of the table. Dani called us just a few minutes ago from the first floor right when we were in the middle of listing down things we wanted to gauge out of the other. But that wonderful fantasy could wait until another day.
"Thank you." Dani cheerfully replied and went back to the kitchen to serve food on the table. I pulled out a chair and sat on it as Jasper did the same.
"Who does Dani work for?" He leaned in closer to me and hushed his tone.
"I'm pretty sure her boss' name is poopbrain."
He chuckled beside me. "I meant her company, dumb-dumb."
"It's kirkland." I replied and started to set the table from my seat.
"Oh." He cleared his throat. "I have shares in that." He insouciantly said. Why wasn't I surprised.
"Great." I placed plates on 4 different placemats around our square table. With it, I kept a spoon and fork on top of the plates.
"Are the utensils enough, dear?" Nana walked out of the kitchen with a bowl of spaghetti in her hands. Jasper immediately stood up and helped her carry the heavy thing out of her hands.
"Thank you." Nana sent a sweet smile in his direction which he returned. "So how's our Selia treating you, Jasper?"
"Very good, ma'am. I feel at home already." He was wearing a wide smile, revealing his pearly-whites and reclaiming back the seat beside me while adjusting his position. Haha, liar.
"Please." Nana sat down on the opposite side of me. "Call me Nana, too."
He laughed in response. "Alright."
"How's uni going so far?" Nana asked Jasper, not me as she stared at his emerald eyes.
"So far so good. I'm going to graduate mid-august this year. I have yet to finish this semester, though."
"Ohh." Nana's eyes gleamed. "A senior? I was left out of this information." She raised an amused eyebrow at me.
Kill me now.
"I am. It's just that Selia doesn't want us to be the talk of the uni."
We already are.
From under the table, his left hand pinched my right upper thigh. "Right, Rose?"
"Ouch!" I complained and glared at Jasper which earned a confused stare from Nana.
This little!
"I mean." I regained my composure and looked at Nana with the biggest puppy dog eyes I could muster. "The uni likes to gossip about relationships and you know how I don't like attention, Nan."
"Oh yes." Nana nodded in agreement. "Our Roselia likes to stay hidden."
"Well, she sure caught my attention." Jasper's pretended to have loving eyes as he stared at me. It was now my turn to give him a bruise.
