I've been waiting so long

I never stopped reaching out to you

I've seen the best and worst of you

And though you've gone astray, I still love you.

I'm your Father, I'm your Savior

I'm your shoulder to cry on

I'm your fortress, I'm your refuge

I'm your Lord and your Creator

Though the Earth may fail, though the mountains shake

Even though you fail

My love will always remain

The world taught you

That all you have is yourself

And you eventually believed that

But all these years I have been with you

There was not a moment I stopped caring

This world is cruel

Got you bruised and broken

Got whatever you had stolen

But for you I got persecuted

To restore what you lost

And give you more than what you wanted

Because I love you
