The three teens sat around the table at Veronica's house, downing their sixth cup of coffee. They knew that time was running out, and they had to find something soon. "This is getting us nowhere!" Archie yelled, slamming papers down angrily, and draining his cup. The other two sat in silence, both knowing that he didn't care whether he went back to jail, only that Betty was safe. As for Jughead, well, anyone who saw him would know that he didn't give a damn if he lived or died. After a few more unbearable minutes of silence, the phone rang. Ronnie sighed and got up, as the boys showed no sign of doing it themselves, and picked up the phone.
The phone call was short, but impactful. On placing down the phone, she slid to the floor, causing Archie to jump up and help her on her feet. Veronica pushed him away, eyes blank, and slowly rose. "They found a body." She whispered.
