Chapter 4 - another friend

It's been a few days and chaeyoung is having a blast in her new job
Although it's like running here and there , she loves this job so much and her boss is a witty,strict and fun man which is not like she imagine

And here she was in the middle of doing her paperworks and arranging her boss's schedules for tommorrow that she didn't realize her boss already preparing his stuff to go home.

"chaeyoung-ssi , here's the key of this office and don't forget to lock it after you finish your work" her boss said handing her the key and heading out
"Okay boss, i'll see you tommorrow ! goodbye!" chaeyoung said while making a salute hand that makes her boss chuckled while shaking his head.
'Now let's get back to work' chaeyoung thought and continue arranging the schedules and also finishing her paperworks

"Hoooaaaaammmmm" chaeyoung yawn after she finish all of her works and began stretching her arm's muscle
"What ?!? it's 9 pm already ?!" She's shocked to see the clock because for her 9 pm is already very late and there's no bus working this hour
'I guess walking will do' she thought sighing and start arranging her things into her bag.

As she was walking outside she almost forgot to lock the door until she feels something in her hands which are the keys
"Right! The door! Almost forgot!" She remember then make a u turn and start locking it

'that was a close one' she thought and start walking towards the lift
"Tteokbokki sound so good right now or maybe i should get some chicken" She start talking to herself while waiting for the lift to open.

Not knowing someone has been watching her while smiling

DING!
The lift opens she saw no one in the lift 'phew' she thought, running to him twice on her first day was already enough and she planned to avoid him at all cost and she's doing a great jobs on it these past few days

Soon enough she reach the first floor and start walking out while smiling to other worker who work late to out of courtesy
She began walking through the night wind that blow her hair and making her shiver out of coldness
'I should bring my jacket starting from tomorrow' she thought still walking , even tough it's tiring but she kinda enjoy her own time by just listening to car passing by and the chatter of people around  her , she always love to observe people and enjoying her own peaceful time

While walking she saw an old lady having a hard time crossing the street so without another doubt she start walking toward the old lady and held her hands
"Hello halmeoni , nice to meet you !" She said while guiding her by helding her hands
The old lady seems surprised
"My name is chaeyoung halmeoni and i happen to see you having a hard time crossing"
The old lady then smile and let herself being guided by chaeyoung
"Thank you child for noticing and helping , i was looking for my grandson, he left to get me some water but it's been fifteen minutes and i'm an impatient old lady" she said while crossing and tightly holding chaeyoung hands

"no problem halmeoni" she said while smiling her chipmunk's smile
After they safely arrived they find a seat at the nearest bench , the old lady still didn't let go of chaeyoung's hands
"You're such a nice young lady, what are you doing here late at night ?" The old lady asked
"I just got home from works , and i know there are no more buses at this hour so i walked, what about you halmeoni ?" She asked the old lady
"I loved walking at nights because i was bored at home especially at this age and usually my grandson will take me to the nearest park" chaeyoung nod excitedly "you're right halmeoni , the park here is the best when night time"

Suddenly someone arrived while panting hard and he seems to not notice there is another person beside his grandma
"HALMEONI! Where did you go ? I was looking for you!" He said with his hands in his waist
Both chaeyoung and the old lady look up to see

Wait a minute
Jungkook?
Oh no

Chaeyoung hides her face and she's only looking down
"You took too long jungkook-ah"
"But you should've stayed there , what if anything happens to you while i wasn't there ?" Jungkook keeps on rambling about how worried he was
"Jungkook , meet my new friend park chaeyoung " he was cut off his rambling
And only then jungkook realize there's another person beside his grandma

Chaeyoung ?

"Hello nice to meet you jungkook" chaeyoung said while bowing and still trying to not look at him in the eyes
While on the other hand , jungkook , look too surprised to see her but quickly conceal it with his cold expression

"Jungkook-ah what do you say about taking my friend home? A young lady walking alone at this hour will be dangerous" his grandma suggested with an excited smile

"Oh no halmeoni , it's fine ! My house is only a five minute walk from here" chaeyoung said quickly and start to get up cuz she looks at jungkook's cold expression and she feels uncomfortable somehow
"But-"
"It's really fine halmeoni , i'll be going then halmeoni i hope you don't wander alone again while jungkook-ssi is not around" chaeyoung cutely scolds which is too cute for the halmeoni
"Okay then , i hope to see you again chaeyoung-ah" halmeoni then smile and hug the girl with affection

While hugging , her eyes accidentally met with jungkook's cold one and she quickly release the hug and bow once again before walking away "bye halmeoni and it was nice to see you jungkook-ssi"

After chaeyoung was out of sight
Jungkook and his grandma start walking toward his car
"Jungkook-ah why are you so cold towards other people ? She is the girl that help me , the least you could do is smile and say thank you to her" his halmeoni scold him
"people , especially women are all the same , they're nice when they want something" he said emotionless
"Not all people are the same like your mother jungkook-ah" his grandma said while shaking her head

Jungkook as usual just mindlessly nod
For him , all women are the same whether it's his mother and his last girlfriend they all just want one thing
'His money'
And that left a big scars in his heart
He didn't want to repeat the same mistake
Although he knows Park chaeyoung is different

Because he always saw her in his high school years , quietly giving him chocolates on valentines day and put it in his locker or water when he finish his basketball practice , he saw all of that but just shrugged it off cuz he's used to that kind of treatment
Beside , he was having the time of his life being the playboy of the school and for him
She was just another one of his fans

But she is different
She never want his attention 

And he definitely saw her holding some letter in their last year and walking to his direction before she stop and saw him being lovey dovey with his new girl

He focus back on his new girlfriend hyejin
"I love you" he said to hyejin this time he did love hyejin before he knew she have another man and she only used him for his money
and he start to kiss hyejin

He saw how park chaeyoung painful expression before she turn around and walking away quietly and quickly

Not knowing he saw her through all that
