Chapter 7 - Ointment and bandaids

It was finally Friday , the day she's been the most excited about because her work place will join hands with the Parks , that's why her boss wanted to have a meeting with them

And she didn't tell any of this to her brother or her dad , she expect them to come to the meeting so that she could surprise them and show them that she's doing well on her own

"Chaeyoung-ssi , i need you to prepare the presentation for later and you have to be there in the meeting room to write down everything"

When her boss said that , she is feeling excited because it also feels like she had done a good job this whole time to be given such an important tasks

But she also feels such burden passes to her shoulders

'I have to do this right ! I'm doomed if i messes up' she said trying to lift her spirit

She chanted that in her head while doing the tasks

It is already 12 PM and now she is walking beside her boss to welcome the guests

And she is not surprised to see her dad with her brother and some of important people behind their backs following them

She bowed to them and showed them a professional smile
Her dad looks at her surprised as to why she was here and then return to his mocking gaze
which is not unusual for chaeyoung

while her brother give her a small nod

And then her boss start to lead the way to the meeting room while making some small talks with her dad while she just tail behind

"So you're working here ?"
She's surprised to see her brother walking slowly to match her pace

"Surprise ?" She smile sheepishly
While her brother just smile and shook his head due to her cuteness

He do loves his little sister even though she's adopted

from the moment he saw her innocent smile and her small hands waving at him

He know that he will protect this little girl as best as he can especially from his dad who can't seem to love her and still blaming her for what happened

"Great job chae" he said patting her head and then back to walk beside their dad

When the meeting start , chaeyoung diligently paying attention to it and jotted down notes

She's sitting beside the presentation board and when she look up she's got a perfect view of jungkook

'Looking so serious and maybe just a teeny bit cool' she said in her head and she suddenly realize what she's thinking
Embarrassed by herself
she look down quickly and hit her head
'No chae! Not again'

Halfway through the meeting Chaeyoung can be seen fidgeting in her seat nervously

She just saw her dad giving her looks that say he don't want her there and he is embarrassed by her
The looks she's been receiving on her whole life

Nobody know that she is the adopted child of the Parks because her dad said not to tell anyone

She suddenly remember back then

How she was always trying hard for her dad to notice her ever since she could even remember
She always try to study hard to get a good scores
