Silence.
Grave, unwieldy silence cloaked the oppressive atmosphere, but her haywire thoughts were definitely not inclined to act in serene accordance. An extreme asphyxiation descending unto her delicate throat as she was harassed without respite by her own chaotic mind whilst in the meantime a slow producing layer of ice creeped over her chilled skin, twining constrictively around her ladened limbs. Undecipherable darkness lividly kept her senses cruelly submerged, enveloping her body as if it were a reproachful phantom come to rightfully claim her sin filled soul. Perhaps this notion was the dreaded truth for coldness seeped through her flesh, binding its bitter touch to her weary bones. Permanently residing within her and outright refusing to lighten its malignant hold, the writhing sensation was abnormally frigid, burrowing throughout her very being.
She tried fidgeting the slightest but found herself paralyzed, barred from leaving this wretched prison. Bounded by invisible chains she wanted to yell, but was currently too indisposed, ardently fighting just to simply breathe. Flooded, suffocating in utter dismay, and a total loss of her bearings sent her spiraling into panic. Hopelessly lost, she desperately cried out to anyone, anything, but no sound was produced. She had a nonexistent voice – no way to communicate her piling distress.
Overwhelming fear to the highest degree sadistically agitated her emotions, and like a disgusting parasite it gnawed at her insecurities. But to her utmost surprise and thankfulness, an unforeseen blessing from the heavens presented her with a small flame sparking inside her chest, answering her silent plea. A comfortable heat gradually replaced the unforgiving cold. . . until both ferociously clashed and battled for dominance, mercilessly trying to overtake the other. Her anatomy deconstructed and reconstructed, compensating for the new presences. The two unnerving monstrous entities competed for her, but somehow arrived at a mutual agreement, settling for coexisting peacefully.
The calm conclusion caused her to loudly gasp and her closed eyelids snapped open, revitalized, airways greedily intaking lungfuls of lovely oxygen. Recovering from that disquieting hell, her irises fervently flitted to observe her surroundings. Continuous midnight chasms welcomed her. Undertones of flowing sapphire supplied some light, the darker color almost glowing whilst it constantly forwarded its progression on an easygoing path to nowhere in particular. The placid space reminded her of churning oceanic depths and she was confusedly standing on the shifty seafloor.
Perplexedly groaning, the young woman fumbled to a seated position before picking herself up from the depthless water. . . wait a moment. . . it wasn't liquid per say. Her clothes remained perfectly dry, and as she scrambled to a wobbly stand the floor beneath her bare feet rippled like waves. Or should she say what lay underneath even the transparent ground quivered.
How strange. . .
Lacking hints as to her whereabouts, she did the only logical thing imaginable. She pinched herself. When that proved useless, marking her vulnerable skin with a stupid red mark, she frustratingly harrumphed, choosing to explore than just laze around meaninglessly. No brilliant epiphany offers her guidance, so in a dazed mindset, and residing inside a abyssal dimension unrecognizable to her, she wanders aimlessly, thoughts too distorted for her to gather any important information concerning her baffling circumstances. In her personal domain, a great expanse of barren, boundless terrain stretches beyond the possible limitations. Seconds, minutes, hours, days passed, but time was seemingly irrelevant here – an ethereal plain constructed of a minimalistic setting. Simplistically beautiful, the area intrigued her.
Nonetheless, her shuffling pace was apparently enough to actually arrive at an end point sometime in the future. Every carefully placed step and a blurry image became clearer until it was made obvious this was another person. But she stayed fearless toward this unknown stranger. She stopped, scanning the armored individual blankly staring back at her.
