About Hari-onago:
Commonly known as "Hari-onna (Hook woman)," this yokai is someone you don't want to meet (mainly if you're a guy). The Hari-onago is said to be a beautiful woman with hooks at the ends of her hair.~~
Appearance:
Hari-onago is seen as a ordinary woman with long, loose and disheveled hair. Looking at it closer though, the tips of her hair has needle-like, barbed hooks. If you look at it close enough, it may be too late.~~
Behavior/Interaction:
Hari-onago wanders the streets looking for victims (usually young men) walking by themselves at night. When she finds a suitable man, she'll smile or laugh at him. If any of it is returned, she'll attack: she lets out all her hair and the barbed ends lash out at it's own will, then sink deep into the victim's flesh. She is so strong that even the strongest man can be overpowered by her. When the victim is helpless, she tips them apart and eat the remains. So...is she a cannibalistic Rapunzel?~~
Abilities:
• Hair manipulation: Can control her hair to ensnare men and eat them.~~
Targets:
Men~~
Escape plan:
There are some good news; there is a possible way to escape Hari-onago: you just need to be a fast runner and your house has a sturdy door or gate. If you can get inside before the hooks can get you, you can survive till sunrise. She will leave scars and gouges in the door as a testament to her viciousness. Also...do not smile at her. She'll leave you alone.~~
Origin story:
There's really isn't any information on where she came from, but it teaches guys a lesson on picking up strange girls on the street.~~
NOPE Rating:
4/5
