Chapter 1

Vacation

It felt so relaxing seeing the blue waters on our way to the hotel and resort.

"Kuya, bakit presidential suite pa?"

"Ask your brother. Nilibre ka naman niya so don't worry." Natatawang sagot ni Kuya.

Isang maleta ang dala ko. Isang linggo rin ako dito.

Lumabas ako ng hotel at umupo sa isa sa mga sun loungers. Hindi ko alam kung nasaan si Kuya Xander. We'll see each other at dinner.

The view of the sun setting was really beautiful. If only I had more time to appreciate nature.

For the mean time, I'll forget my whereabouts. Just for this week.

"Nandito ba si Kuya Jack ngayon?" I asked Kuya Xander while eating dinner.

"He's in Malaysia." Simpleng sagot niya.

Goodness! Ang busy ng mga buhay namin.

"Wanna drink tonight?" He grinned.

"Seriously, Attorney Villarama?" I asked.

"Nevermind. I'll go alone. Baka patayin ako ni Drei at Luke kapag nalasing ka. Remember last year?! Dun sa—" he couldn't even continue what he was saying dahil tawang-tawa siya.

Drinking is a normal thing for my cousins. I do drink but not really hard liquors. Kuya Xander gave me a drink. After a few shots or so, nahilo ako. The next thing I knew, I was being scolded by Kuya Luke because I puked on Kuya AJ's car.

"Atleast you just look very sleepy when you're drunk. But your face—" again, he couldn't continue because he was laughing. Was it that funny?

Hinawakan niya ang tiyan niya at tumawa pa. Is it really that funny?

"When you puked in AJ's car, he didn't know kung maawa siya sa'yo, magagalit but in the end, natawa rin siya."

I rolled my eyes. Abogado ba talaga 'to?

"Doon na lang ako sa tabing dagat mamaya. Drink all you want. It might help you forget." Saad ko.

"Aren't you even curious about what happened?"

"I am, pero alam kong hindi ka pa handang magkwento."

Ngumisi siya. "Let's just say, I wanted to fight but she didn't."

Hindi ako sumagot. Based on what he said, I think the girl's family is involved. Imposible namang ang family namin ang involved.

"Balik muna ako sa hotel to change. Ikaw?" Kuya Xander asked.

"Doon na muna ako sa tabing dagat."

Umupo ako sa buhangin at hinayaan kong yakapin ako ng malamig na hangin. Basically, it's not summer kaya hindi masyadong mainit.

Pakiramdam ko, kumakalma ako habang naririnig ko ang munting hampas ng mga alon.

Bahagyang kumunot ang noo ko noong makita kong tumatawag si Gio. It's so normal for him.

Kahit noong birthday dinner ng lola niya ay sobrang normal. Ako lang naman talaga ng nag-iisip ng kung anu-ano.

If he could only give me friendship, then that's enough for me. I wouldn't dare ask for more. I mentally shook my head, who am I kidding?

"Gio? I'm on vacation." Bungad ko.

"I know. I just want to ask you something. Do you still remember Maica?" Tanong niya.

"I know her." Of course. She's your ex and your first love.

"Umuwi siya from France yesterday. You think I should give her something?" Ouch.
