Twenty-Nine

Back to Elaina's point of view;

I look around the room, noticing that I am in fact in my house but I'm not in my room. I look down my hand, wondering what the hell happened till I get it all wrap up in bandages.

Until memory from last night came flooding in my mind.

The emotions suddenly got too much and I feel like curling up and cry my eyes out, but I willed myself not to let another tear fall. I loo around the room trying to know what the time is.

4:47a.m if I see correctly that is.

No wonder it's so quiet. I quickly got up and walk towards the bathroom, needing to wash my face. I switch on the light, and blink my eyes a couple of time to adjust my sight to the bright room.

But of course the first thing I see, is myself in the mirror. I'm a huge messed. My hair all tangle up and my eyes look puffy and red from all the crying.

I ignore my reflection and went over to the sink and turn on the tap, splashing some water to my face.

"How does it feel like?" I heard a voice, my voice to be exact, saying to me. "To know you fail your father, not only once but twice?"

I straightened and look at my reflection, only this time the reflection doesn't mimicked my movements or expressions. She stare at me with a smug smile, "You know your dad is counting on you. He's counting on you to keep everyone safe and what did you do?"

My brows furrowed, "I didn't want them to die. I didn't ask for any of this to happened." My voice came out soft.

The mirror me laugh sarcastically, "Sure you don't Elaina." She replied rolling her eyes. "You have to finish what you started. You have to be the one killing them. The one who responsible for their death."

"We don't suppose to kill them." I gritted out, "My job is to capture them and lock them behind bars."

She waved her hand off, "What good will that do?" She asked. "They kill your parents. They kill your brother. Do they even deserve to live another day?"

I frowned, taking in the words. She smirk, knowing I'm taking in whatever she had said. "Your parents didn't deserve this. Damien obviously didn't deserve to die either. He have bright future ahead of him, but they take it all away."

I stayed quiet not knowing what to say. "You and me both know, it's only in a matter of time before they will take Louisa away from you too." This time she speak in a hushed voice, "You gonna let that happen?"

"They're not getting anywhere near her." I snapped, feeling rage pulsing through my veins. "They're the caused of this! They kill our family. They broke us apart. And I'm not letting them have the victory to take away my only family!" I slam my hand on the counter.

She look at me with smugly, "I know you won't." And with that everything gone quiet and the mirror finally look just like me.
