Starting Over

Chapter 8

Today is the day I start working with Harry. It is starting off badly, I wake up late due to the emotional breakdown I had last night. While I was messing around with my song about Emma I just lost it. She has now been gone for three months but it is just as raw as it happened yesterday. I just started feeling so guilty for leaving Ireland and in my mind running away from my life. I haven't told a soul here about what happened. I am not trying to keep it a secret I am just trying to hold myself together.
I grab an apple on my way out the door as I rush to the bus stop. I haven't invested in a vehicle here yet just relying on public transportation which at times really sucks like today. When I get off the bus I still have 6 blocks to go until I make it to the studio and I am almost late so I have to run rest the way. I arrive and stop at the front desk to let them know I am here but also to catch my breath. Damn I really need to start working out. The lady at the desk tells me to head up to the third floor and look for studio 302.
Once I make it to the door I stop and take a deep breath to calm my nerves. I knock on the door before I open it. Inside are three other guys, Harry and his manager. Harry looks up at me with a huge smile on his face. He is so friendly thank goodness.

I can't wait to get to the studio because Niall is joining the team today I still don't know what kind of magic he pulled the other night at my performance but he made my song sound the best it has. So I packed up the extra food and cake I made and headed out to the studio.
I was in my room at the studio talking with the guys when Niall arrived. He looked a little tired and nervous. "Hey Niall you made it and welcome" I said looking at him. He just smiled in return.
"So I have three more tracks to get down for the album so how about we get started on that" Niall just nodded and headed over to the large control panel and I headed to the mic and picked up my guitar.
After about three hours of laying down tracks we needed a break. I told everyone I had a surprise for them and headed out the door. I ran down to the kitchen area and grabbed up all the food I brought with me. When I got back I had to kick on the door because my hands were full. Niall opened up the door for me and his eyes got huge and a smile spread across his face. Niall reached out and took the containers containing the cake and cupcakes and we both set everything on the table. "I was bored and did a lot of cooking over the weekend and want to share it with all of you guys" I said with a smile. Everyone gathered around the table and dug in.

After we all filled our tummies it was time to get back to work. The afternoon just flew by but I really think we got some quality work done. It was approaching 7 pm when we called it a day. I know I wanted some rest and I am sure the guys did also. We all said our byes and headed out.
I was pulling out of the parking lot when I noticed Niall walking down the street. Maybe he didn't realize he was allowed to park in the studios lot. Made a mental note to tell him that tomorrow. I was stopped at a light and looked out the window and saw Niall at the bus stop so I pulled over and got out. I approached the bus stop and said "hey Niall do you need a ride?" He looked in my direction and smiled "No that is okay I can just ride the bus. I don't want to make you go out of your way"
"Nonsense you will be riding with me now come on silly boy". Niall got up and followed me back to the car.
