Starting Over

Chapter 34

I was just getting up when my mom came into my room. "Come on Niall I know you are on break but you don't need to sleep the day away" she said once in my room. I just ran my finger through my hair and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. "Come on mum it is only 9 in the morning it's not like I slept the entire day away" I replied. "Well get dressed I need you to go to the store for me. I need a few things so I can make lunch and dinner. If your nice I may even make your favorite cake also" my mom said with a title chuckle. "Okay okay I will be down after I get dressed but I am having breakfast before I go" I said as I was pushing mom out of my room. I quickly get dressed and head downstairs to the kitchen.

My mom had a bowl of cereal waiting for me along with some fruit. So I quickly sat down to eat so I can get to the store. Once I was finished I put my dowl in the sink and went to find my mom in the sitting room. "Mum I need the list of what I need to pick up so I can get going" I said and my mom quickly went into the kitchen and grabbed her hand written list of groceries. Once I had the list I headed out.
Really I don't mind running errands for my mom. It gets me out and about to visit with the people I grew up around. Since I was born and raised here and actually worked in the local music store I knew a lot of people. It is fun to take with some of the kids I have guitar lessons to and to see if they are still playing or not. I slowly strolled along the isles to make sure I had everything on the list. I was about to head up front when I got a text from my mom asking if I was coming home anytime soon. I haven't even been gone that long she is very impatient today. Then I looked at my watch and saw it was almost 11. I must of talked to more people then I thought. Oh well we will just have a late lunch no big deal. So I hurried up to the check out so I can get home to make my mom happy.

I have landed in Dublin and got a rental car so I can drive to Mullingar. I have never been in Ireland before so I found the drive very relaxing and beautiful. I can see why Niall loves this place so much. I was a couple hours into my drive when I called Maura. I wanted to give her fair warning so she could get Niall out of the house.

It was about 30minutes after my call to Maura and I was parked in front of the Horan house. I got out of the car and stretched and then grabbed my carry on bag so I could freshen up before Niall got back. I was a little nervous as I walked up to the front door but yet excited to see Niall again. The door opened just as I was about to knock and I was greeted by smiling Maura and a hug. "Harry so glad to see you again. I hope the drive wasn't to bad" Maura said as she was showing me into the house. "It is nice to see you again also and no the drive was very beautiful. Is there someplace I can freshen up.  I would like to wash away the hours of traveling" I replied. Maura showed me to the guest room and the bathroom in the hallway and left me to freshen up. Once I was done I went back down into the kitchen to chat with Maura. We just sat at the table, drank tea and talked about Niall.
I had been at the Horan house for a little more then an hour when I heard the door open.
