Chapter 10 ~ Questions

''Why didn't you come back?''

The one question that I had a hard time answering came out of his mouth. I looked at the blonde haired blue eyed elf wondering what my answer was going to be.

''Do you want my honest answer or do you want some made up one that won't include me putting all my baggage on you.''

''I want you to be totally honest with me,'' he said.

I sighed, ''I was afraid.''

''Of what?'' He asked.

''To face the people I left.''

''Me?''

''No Legolas you were one of the reasons I wanted to come back.''

He smiled, ''well I would hope so.''

''And what is that supposed to mean?'' I asked turning my body so I could face him.

''Guess.''

''Why would I do that when you could just tell me?''

He looked at me, but not with happy features he looked nervous.

''Eda your different.''

''If that's not a complement don't think I won't hurt you,'' I said jokingly.

''You couldn't,'' he said smugly.

''And why not?'' I challenged.

''Number one the guards would throw you into the dungeons, two you wouldn't, and three I'm too strong for you.''

''Excuse me? Are you saying I'm weak?''

''Not exactly I'm just saying I'm strong,'' he said flexing his muscles.

''Oh great a prince with an ego bigger than this earth.''

In a second I was pinned down. ''Want to say that again?'' He asked.

I Gulped, ''you have an ego bigger than the whole earth.'' I whispered into his pointed ear.

''Oh really now?''

''Yes sir!''

He started to laugh at me, ''you know your such a kid, how'd you survive for three years by yourself?''

''Its called common sense.''

''Which you have none of.''

''Says the prince with the huge ego.''

''But anyways what I was saying before. Your different in a good way. You stand up for other people and you don't care if its in the middle of town in front of a large crowd, or in front of a small group. And your brave, very brave for such a young elf.''

''Are you admitting your old?'' I asked trying to hide a smile.

''You can't take anything serious can you?'' He groaned.

''That depends.''

''Eda do you remember THAT night?'' He asked me.

How could I not, it was the best and worst night of my life.

''The night we kissed, yes I remember that night.''

He leaned over, ''well I forgot to give you something.'' And with that his soft lips were on mine.

Sadly it ended fast and Legolas was out of site before I could process what had just happened.

That's when I realized..

The Prince of Mirkwood just kissed me.
