Previously on The Final Countdown...
After taking a giant stone tentacle to the head a while back, our heroine has staggered into The Cyclops Theatre, named after the one-eyed founder, Hector Kraken. The Cyclops just closed a production of the Blues Brothers 2012: Less of a Disaster Than Blues Brothers 2000. Reviews were mixed.
Val limped through the ornate double doors of the Cyclops Theatre, the last great live theatre in town, and wished she could have gone to just one more show.
The roar from outside finally dulled. All she could hear was her own soft footsteps, muffled by the lush carpet.
Before she knew what was happening, she had made her way onstage.
And she just had to sing.
*Sung to the tune of Mamma Mia, a great Abba classic.
This is the weirdest day, since I don't know when
It sure does feel like the world is about to end
A dude's head came off, the whole city burns
A ceph-a-lo-pod...just fell on my head
I get this hunch...that I'll soon be dead
Rage-filled gits who just hate everything
All I want is to get up and sing
Planatinos, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Planatinos, or tostones
My my, I don't want to die here...
Suddenly, with a crash and splinter that echoed throughout the entire city, Ronnie and Captain Fancypants burst through the stage doors like a knight and his noble steed.
Ronnie grinned from ear to ear.
"Did somebody say tostones?"
