Panic.

That was all I felt at that moment. The thing was, it wasn't just me, I had my babies with me too, which meant that I couldn't take any reckless decision and risk their safety. It wasn't the first time I had come across drunkards searching for innocent and vulnerable victims in the middle of the night, just for fun. They could be found anywhere; in the middle of the street, like now, in clubs, in high school parties, where I went as a teenager, or it could be in a crowded street too, where men discreetly groped women and they wouldn't even know who did it.

I distinctly remember nailing a guy in his nuts when he had tried to grope me and corner me in the janitor's closet. Like stupid high school bets, that jock had been dared to deflower the sweet little nerd, who was me. Only inside the janitor's closet had he realised that I was neither a little one nor was I a sweet one, and that this nerd knew some kickass moves to put jocks like him in place. Later, a rumor had spread that he was hospitalised for a few days and also that scrotal hernia was agonisingly painful.

When the school authorities were suspending him, they were bound to inform my parents about it too.

And there was no mistaking the pride shining in my father's eyes when he heard what I did to him. He had kissed my forehead and hugged me, patting my back and kept murmuring how much he was proud of me. A month later, he was teaching me something new.

I wasn't my daddy's little fighter just by the name. My father didn't teach me how to shoot straight and how to make guys collapse just to run away and cower in a corner.

I wondered why my dad never taught me how to defend myself when I had two babies with me.

I had to make sure that their drunk brains weren't smart enough to pay attention to my babies. I had to keep their thoughts on me and only me, so that they couldn't even think of harming my twins. Terrence would never forgive me for being so irresponsible.

I tossed the phone in Raine's pram, and heard a little squeal from her. I turned around to make sure it didn't hurt her and then turned back to the three drunkards, who were still sneering at me.

"What do you want?" I snapped, in my no-nonsense tone and stood protectively in front of the stroller.

I straightened my posture and remembered all the instructions dad had given me. First was to not let them feed off my fear. The more I showed that I was afraid, the more they would enjoy it. Secondly, I had to keep them talking and distract them from going for the kill.

"You mamma, you. Wanna join us for some fun?" One of them said, smirking, and dared to take a step forward.

I looked at the three for a moment, giving them an uninterested look and scoffed, "No way. You know what, you may really want to turn around and retrace the steps you took to come here."

"No, we don't." The second one smirked, "It's three against one, and there's no one around to stop us, babe. Wouldn't want to miss it, now, would we?" He said, crossing his arms.

All of a sudden, the third one lunged at me and I ducked, managing to kick him off his feet at the same time. I watched him lose his balance, with all the adrenaline rushing through my blood. He stumbled and lost his footing, falling down right on his face, probably crushing his nose under the weight. And that was enough to get him unconscious.

Heh. That was easy. Daddy would be so proud.

Luckily, those people weren't smart enough to come at me all at once, because God knows how I would have been able to fight all three of them together. Running was the dumbest decision I could take at this moment, so I was in a complete do or die situation.
