PSYCHE WALKED INSIDE OF THE house, her eyes immediately noticing the familiar girl sitting down on the couch watching an episode of her show. The girl seemed to notice her arrival, turning her head and meeting Psyche's eyes.
"I'll bring your stuff upstairs," her father told her, and she smiled and nodded her head as her dad walked away.
"Hey," Psyche said. Clementine stood up from the couch and walked towards her. She expected the girl to insult her, or even slap her, but she smiled widely— too wide— and pulled her in a hug.
"I missed you, Penny," Clementine mumbled, and despite being confused, Psyche hugged back awkwardly. The last time she had ever talked to Clementine was when they fought more than five years ago, back in 2012. She didn't go to the airport when Clementine was set to leave the country because the girl told her that she never wanted to see her again.
"Hey, Psyche, can we leave— what the?" Arden stopped on her tracks upon seeing her sister and her cousin hugging because she did not expect that. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she crossed her arms together.
"I missed you too," Psyche said back, which made Arden scoff and roll her eyes.
When Psyche and Clementine pulled away from the hug, Clementine still had her smile, but Psyche had an awkward one, still weirded out about her cousin's sudden action.
"Psyche, can we go now?" Arden asked as she walked towards her sister.
"Where are you two off to?"
"We're going to eat dinner. Out," Arden replied before turning to Psyche, "Can we go?"
Clementine was about to say something but Arden grabbed her sister by her wrist and pulled her outside.
