Rose's POV
Whispers started. I was the girl who defended herself against a Hunter, punched the "amazing' Holden in the nose, and beat Felix in a face-off all in her first week here. I was raising eyebrows, and it worried me. What if I caught the attention of the wrong people?
The moment I got back to my room, I curled up in a ball as Abby told me about what everyone was saying about me. To her, it was good news. I wish I could tell her she was only making things so much worse.
Abby, Grace, and Rylee all got back with new found energy. While they did their homework the old fashioned way in the living room, I simply super speeded everything, barely putting any effort into it. I had discovered I was the epitome of rushing to get work done.
I hardly moved until night fell. Grace offered me some dinner, lasagna, but I declined. I couldn't eat. I couldn't even think. My mind wasn't processing anything as time flew by.
Four more hours dragged on. The girls joined me on their beds, and within another half hour they had all passed out from exhaustion. I felt sleep try to pull me in with them, but for some reason I couldn't. I needed to see him.
