I see you there
Eroding away
As you sit in the ocean breeze
Waiting for each spray
To take away
Another little piece of
The you that you hate
You'll let the ocean water
Wash over you
Corrode you
Toll your skin to rust
As the salt
Laps over you
Creating a pain that must
Distract from the hurt you're already
Feeling each day
But you're fighting the wrong being
You're not your demons
You're not your shortcomings
Or your short sights
You're you and
Even if they may pervade
They can't replace
They can't erase
The wonderful you that
I have seen
I see you there
Lost and confused
Unable to believe in you
But I do
Don't listen to what the Pharisees see
You've got a wonder about you
An amazing tinge
More than the blue
You've let wash over you
You may not see it
But I certainly do
I see you're worthwhile too
One day
You'll know
Until then
Maybe we can reach equilibrium
Teach me to swim
I'll face the current
With my unwitherable skin
