johnny POV:
3:26 pm

"Johnny, I found some news," Darian says, sitting lazily on her chair. As soon as she says, she sits up.

"What?" I ask, with much curiosity.

"Mackenzie's death isn't final, meaning that she might be alive, but probably elsewhere, but that elsewhere is unknown, but this news is not final." She says

"What? That can't be," I say, in disbelief.

"I didn't say it was true, I said it wasn't final." She says

"Fair point. But that's impossible! That makes me feel happy yet sad at the same time!" I say

"Anyways, Maddie will be here in estimated 30 minutes. You excited?" She asks

"Not entirely, the last time I saw her was 2 years ago," I say

"It can't be that awkward, she's our sister, John." She says

"You know me, I'm one of those shy guys." I say

"True," She says

"Mom texted me, she says she'll be here around 4:20, so that means she might be a bit late." She says

4:11 pm

No one has arrived. Not Maddie, not Mom.

I know I might seem like I'm overreacting in this but I'm unsure if Maddie is even coming or not. Sure she's so far only 11 minutes late, but I'm used to this. If she's not by her destination by over 10 minutes, it's likely for her not to come. Usually, she's early to her events, and clearly this kind of is an event, family emergencies are events, right?

I mean if your family member is in such condition, you'd be there to see them. Well, at least I would.

"I'm starting to think she isn't coming, it's past 10 minutes, and you know what she does." I say

"Don't rush her, John. At least she's making an effort to actually come," Darian says

"Well it is raining, meaning more traffic." I say

Mom's estimated time of arrival (ETA) is 4:20 and below, if it's not by that time, she's probably gonna be here really late. And when I say really late, I mean like really really late.

For some reason, I've always developed a liking for rain. The weather may seem crazy, but I find the rain calming.

For the past few days the weather has been rainy, and I enjoy it. It rains in the early morning from 5:00 to 6:00, and it rains again around 4:00 to 6:00, but for some reason, it is still very bright after the rains. Wonder why.

"Hello," Mom says as she walks in with a very wet raincoat, and dripping boots.

"I know I've been giving news a lot, but we got some new news," she says
