Rowan was doing better

Rowan was doing better. He was sent home from the hospital a few days after my visit. He no longer needed constant help moving, but he was told not to move more than necessary and his mom was following the doctors orders very strictly. Over the past couple of days Rowan and I had been texting back and forth. I guessed he was just bored from having nothing else to do at home.

I made my way up to Rowan's house and knocked on the front door. My mind replayed the scene from two weeks ago in my head. Instead of Jenny and Lachlan running out the door, I was met with Jenny in her work clothes.

"Thank you so much Lennon. I don't know what I would do without you." She said before giving me a big hug. She moved out of the way so I could come inside. Jenny shut the door softly behind her and turned around to face me. "Now he doesn't know that you supposed to come over. I didn't tell him because I knew he would fight me on it. He thinks he doesn't need any help, but I don't feel comfortable leaving him home alone just yet. I swear that boy will end up ripping his stitches before the end of this."

I nodded my head. I knew how protective she was over Rowan from his texts. She wouldn't even let him get up to get a drink of water. He hated that he was forced to relax and have Lachlan be his slave. I personally would have been happy to relax and have my own personal server.

"I understand." I said. I knew that after that big scare, caused by Rowan's accident, she wasn't ready to let him out of her sight. Any parent would act the same.

"I'm sorry if this taking up too much of your time. Lachlan can't miss any more school and he had to go to tutoring today to get caught up on all the homework he's missed. I can't take any more work off or I won't have any days saved up for spring vacation." She shifted her purse on to her other shoulder. The weight from it must have been digging into her skin.

"It's totally fine. I'm happy to help in anyway I can. I didn't have anything else planned anyway." I smiled. I never had anything planned that wasn't related to school.

Jenny looked down quickly at her watch and opened the front door. "I really have to get going but please call me if you need anything."

"Don't worry everything will be perfectly fine." I told her the same thing I told my mom every time she left me to watch Dakota.

She gave me a small smile and shut the door behind her leaving me standing in the front room looking at the door.

Okay so now what?

Rowan had no clue I was here and I didn't know how he was going to react to me being here.

After I apologized to him it was like everything went back to the way it was before. Everything was normal except the look he gave me, like he was constantly sorry. I knew what it was he was sorry for and it wasn't reading my journal. No. He was sorry for something that he had no control over. He was not the person who raped me but he felt sorry for me. I hated it. I didn't want his pity, I just wanted to be treated like he would treat any other friend.
